We've seen all these "wars on items" wars on smoking wars on obesity ,before that the hot topic was drunk driving and eradicating it and before that it was seat belts, and before that there was something else.

So after you've gotten every one to heel, every one wears seat belts no one drinks and drives, and there's no smokers and no fatties, what's next?

When will it end? Where will it end, will it ever end?

From my recollection.....the witch hunt only ends when the water is pourd on the witch....

If taken to extremes, these causes can be like any other. If looked at moderately, then you can seem them as goals to have a healthier world. Is there something wrong with a healthier world? of course not. Is there something wrong with zealots? Yep, but it should not invalidate their cause. The issue should be looked at and determined.

Well now Kalista, it depends on what kind of witch you are, maybe, because on tin man, the remake of dorothe of oz, water did NOT harm the witch.

Ideally, socially pressure will always be there to press people towards better ends.

If the vast majority meet up to the current bar, it'll probably just go up. Like.. if anyone becomes a 3.5 GPA student with no current problems, then they'll be normal and they'll have to try to do better to be cool. People with the 3 GPA's would be complete losers.

To answer the question (and to thwart these thread hijacking fornicators),I would say that the next item on the block is the chemical....Diacetyl.

Diacetyl is that nasty assed crap they put on micro-wave pop-corn,to make you think it tastes like butter.

Oh... yeah.. ya need a lil back story to know why I am doing the happy dance of joy over here eh?

Ok.. there is this anorexic little twat who sneers down her crooked little nose at any one who has the audacity to dare eat an actual lunch. ( we are talking even a side salad.. or cup o soup here folks. ) She would loudly tell each and every one of us in the office how very fat we all were.. and were going to get by eating all that lettuce. *sighs*

The only thing this twat ate for years in the office I used to work in was microwave popcorn, and distilled water. She wouldnt even eat a whole bag over the day.. it was "too much" I was surprised she never passed out. When I was pregnant the smell of that nasty foul shit made me violently ill. She made it a habit to swing past my office ( which was new for her.. and she didnt have to.. and never had in the past..) and I would go running to toss my cookies. I hope she coughs up a lung.

*ugh* ok.. back to your regularly sched. program. So sorry. Had to vent.

Yes society continualy tried to better it's self... some times for the good.. sometimes in idiotic ways.

As long as we are not all required to be super thin, blonde, and stupid.... or just like the hordes of morons... who knows? I am all for self improvement.. but I do not think people should be made to feel like second class citizens because they are not "models"
