sissyjasmine23 -> shoe size conversion (male to female) (2/8/2008 2:06:49 PM)

hi guys

i'm a male beginning crossdresser.
looking to buy my first pair of high heels but don't know how to buy women shoes

I wear size 10 in male tennis shoe size and have very wide feet.
Is there a conversion chart?

i will wear both men and womens shoes, but mainly mens only because they are more comfortable. i as well have a wide foot, being female it's hard finding shoes in womens :). But i wear a size 10 in womens, which equals to about a 8.5-10 in mens depending on what type of shoe it is. This site may be able to help you. Good luck

Hiyas Jasmine This is the size chart that is used by one of the  major fashion shoe suppliers in the US (Pleaser/Demonia/Luscious). Hope this helps:)
However I know from blisters and cramping that wide feet are more of a specialised thing...you will have to be careful regarding the width, I think size is basically the same as below tho
Good luck
Lucy

Edited to add....ahem the table didnt work, it came out looking like hell...heres a link to the site itself

General rule of thumb.  Womens shoe size = 2 + mens size. In your case,  mens 10 works out to womens 12.   Which is the reason why TS/V/G who wear anything biger than 10 and half have a hard time finding shoes,  most major manufacturers for womens stop at 12.

Check out these guys. Not sure they have a website but they service all the fun folks in San Francisco...

They are absolutely the S-H-I-T....

as a woman with big feet and who's had them since elementary school the actual conversion is mens + 1.5 = women's...but womens shoe makers rarely make half sizes over 9.5 so + 2 is generally a good rule of thumb (which is an apt cliche, btw)

and the real reason i wanted to post is to whine about the fact that there aren't any trans shoe shops here...i don't know if there are any in texas...it has been my long standing statement, that if only i could find a shoe shop that catered to providing women's shoes for men, i might be able to find some nice looking women's shoes that actually fit my huge feet...which have now shrunk in length but not width...i think they are trying to become square...i wear a 10W in womens...argh!! they don't make that size...

<end whine>

Mens size 10 (wide) equals female 12W. Many internet shops carry this size.

Something that I don't think anyone addressed, but is still really important is size when buying fetish heels. I've been shopping around and I have found that the higher the heel (5 inch+) the more cramped it is. Go with the general men's size +2 = woman's size, but if you are thinking of buying nose bleed high heels, go up another size on top of that.

I wear your pretty much exact size. I'm a men's 9.5 - 10, women's 11W - 12.

A really good online shop is http://www.pennangalan.co.uk/ if you are considering buying knee or thigh high boots. They include circumference measurements. Not a lot of people realise that those boots are made for women seemingly without leg muscles.

I wear a men's 10 and had been buying a size 12 for my heels but I could never stand in them for very long. Recently I've started buying size 13 and have found them to be much more comfortable. When you're wearing heels your feet tend to slide forward and crunch your toes. I've also found that show inserts can help as well.

Not much help is size conversion from me, except that the charts help with everything except width. Semi-related though...

Rent the movie "Kinky Boots" it's a good movie even if you aren't into trans/cd. Afterwards check out their website, the movies is based on a real story. The shoes ARE expensive but they are designed for boys in every aspect including width, and will last you a life time. I can't remember the exact url but googling Kinky Boot will probably get you there quickly.

Great movie Meg and your comments about the shoes being made for men are spot on. I was a ski boot technician for many years and one of the things we learned was that mens and womens feet are very different. It goes way beyond just the basic length and width. Arches begin and end in different spots, heels are narrow etc....Add calf size and shape (important when buying boots) and you can see why the "Kinky Boots" company enjoys such success.
