Mercnbeth -> The Cost of On-Line Infidelity (9/9/2005 10:08:11 AM)

It appears now that the lawyers have begun to enforce misrepresentation on internet dating services.

quote:

Fertility specialist Dr. Khaled Zeitoun is a married father of three who allegedly left a trail of tears after taking to the Internet for some extramarital romance, according to court papers made public yesterday.

Zeitoun, 46, is being sued by two women he met through an online dating service - and allegedly wooed with bizarre come-on lines invoking the Devil, tales of past lives and talk of the Apocalypse.

In lawsuits, Tiffany Wang and Jing Huang branded him a medical masher who pretended to be single to lure them into sexual relationships.

In court papers filed in May, Zeitoun admitted having relationships with several women on the Internet while pretending to be single - but he said he told Huang upfront that he had no interest in long-term liaisons.

Thats bad. What has our world come to when you sue someone you have never even laid your hand on?

Good! While I have no position on extra-marital affairs of others, I do believe that if this is what they're doing, the other party needs to be aware of what they're getting into. Apart from compromising someone else's ethics, they also put the other person in a potentially volitile situation that they have no forewarning of.

The article I read seemed to imply that he misrepresented himself to them as single and had sex with them under false pretenses.
Granted, the rest of his story of pacts with the Devil, former lives, etc, seems extremely wiggy to me and I'm sure I'd never want to go out with someone who seemed that delusional, but at the same time, he still did lie to them in order to get them in bed. I'd say that would be laying his hands on them.

Personal injury attorneys pant and drool upon reading the letters "M.D." after a defendant's name.

The day when seducing stupid women becomes an actionable tort will be the day you see 80 percent of this country's men set sail for Bangkok and Amsterdam.

To make matters worse, there is a dating service I once saw online that you have to sign something to swear you are telling the truth. They aparently investigate and if they find you in a lie they press charges.

There's nothing wrong with that. Verifying personal information increases the quality of the service. However, the fact that tons of people lie and cheat on the internet (as in real life) is something that every reasonable person should take into account. If they get suckered in, they have no one else to blame.

That's what I was going to say, but apparently he did meet them in person... Could someone explain to me what is a relationship on the internet ?? Can you have sex with another person who is not in the same room as you are !? I think I'm going to learn something here ! [sm=lol.gif]

The cost of on-line infidelity is what caused my divorce. I caught my ex cheating on-line which resulted in a fabulous email to his lover that the court accepted as evidence in my case. The total cost of the divorce was about $17,000.
If you are going to play, it is ok, just be sure there is not a marriage involved.
My attorey searched all computer records and they were used for the first time in my state as evidence for Adultry.

Respectfully,

Mistress_Jan

Mistress Jan,
You example should be considered by everyone who is married and thinks that what they are doing "on-line" doesn't count. Your case shows that attitude can be an expensive rationalization!

Thank you for bringing your personal experience to this issue.
