Acheron143 -> Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 3:28:32 PM)

I've never introduced myself to the board or to anyone here other than the few chat sessiosn and those I've talked to directly but hello.:)

I am a Master, and it has always been my opinion if a slave who has a desire to leave me can provide good reasons and is only an online/new/trainee to begin with can ask and expect to be released at any time in their service. *shrugs* Am I completely out of line in that type of thought?

Leatherist -> RE: Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 3:29:50 PM)

And they can ask you what qualifies YOU, and do exactly the same.

DesFIP -> RE: Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 3:36:59 PM)

And even if you don't believe she has a good reason she can still block you, or walk out the door. Consent is required. If you don't agree to her statement that she doesn't want to see you/hear from you again, then you're guilty of harassment at the least and stalking possibly.

Or are you planning on keylogging her computer to be able to keep sending emails to whatever new email addy she gets in an attempt to avoid you?

Sheesh!

celticlord2112 -> RE: Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 3:44:03 PM)

Slaves can release themselves anytime they choose...and for whatever reason they choose.  They don't even need to ask.

TracyTaken -> RE: Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 3:48:41 PM)

All it takes is walking out the door, providing the person in question is not being physically prevented from leaving or threatened with violence if he/she leaves.  In that case they call it false imprisonment at best, kidnapping at worst, and Master can wind up as his cell mate's bitch.

fullofgrace69 -> RE: Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 3:53:41 PM)

the minute she doesnt wanna serve the Dom shes free, doesnt matter whether the Dom agrees or not really.

Leatherist -> RE: Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 3:54:14 PM)

In short, this whole "mastery" concept is only a fantasy unless someone chooses to play along with it. The minute it stops-so does your authority.

MadRabbit -> RE: Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 3:56:05 PM)

I would ask yourself...

"If she decides to leave me, what the fuck can I do about it?"

I'm sure the beginnings of a great epiphany will follow....

LOL what he said (without the misspelling...epiphany...but meh...the response was great anyway)

MadRabbit -> RE: Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 4:05:50 PM)

I want a refund on my spell check

laurell3 -> RE: Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 4:10:38 PM)

Hands you a check for zero dollars and zero cents.

RedMagic1 -> RE: Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 4:50:00 PM)

It's questions like these that caused me to make Internet Chat Rooms a hard limit.  Almost anyone who's been in a relationship has had what I will technically call the MR Epiphany.  But here's this guy who's honestly not sure about the answer.    I can't help but think he asked the question in the Extreme Wanker Slavery Chatroom and everyone said, "Hell no, slaves have no rights, don't be such a phony Master!!!!!"  Dude, BDSM is consensual.  It's pretty easy to tell the fantasy posters here -- they're the ones everyone in a relationship is telling to get real.

Nineveh -> RE: Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 4:56:29 PM)

I have to say, although those who have stated that a slave has the right to leave if she sees fit are correct, it is extremely rude to do so without at least discussing it first.  Now, of course, in some cases it may be necessary, for instance if the Dom doesn't realize that the slave has the right to terminate the rtelationship.  I think that both slaves and masters get caught up in the idea that there can be no flexibility, that the slaves needs do not matter, and forget that the relationship exists to fill the needs of both.  To run away without a word leaves the person you havbe run from feeling confused, betrayed, and angry.

fullofgrace69 -> RE: Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 5:58:18 PM)

well yeah u dont just up and leave, its the same old thing communication is key.

MasterFireMaam -> RE: Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 6:54:07 PM)

You cannot control what hasn't been given to you to control. Unless you plan to illegally hold her against her will, she's free to go. I don't understand why more people don't get that; it's a pretty obvious everyday real life thing.

Master Fire

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 7:34:07 PM)

I understand your belief and expectation on that relationship.  But it's a bit naive to think there are only legitimate reasons for a relationship to end before it gets "really serious or long term."

As well, while it's fine for you to decide she is no longer a slave if she self-releases...the end result is the same, she's still gone and you're still single again.

Nobody gets up and abandons a satisfying relationship. By the time someone just gives up and walks, they've attempted to talk about their needs and been ignored./ridiculed/abused over and over. The fact that the other person refused to listen is their own fault.

However this is one of those differences between men and women. Most men I know will walk out numerous times and come back. By the time a woman gives up and walks, she isn't coming back. The fact that men assume she'll act like he does is his problem, not hers.

TracyTaken -> RE: Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 7:55:27 PM)

I thought that was odd.  Like, when you're walking out of a significant relationship, you worry about commiting a social faux pas?

What is the correct etiquette?  Give two weeks notice?  [:D]

I think you are over generalizing, both about people and about the way men vs women behave.  I know women who walk away, because they want to be pursued, and they'll admit as much.  I also have had a slave abandon a relationship (long distance, which is easier to walk away from, but anyway) without saying anything to me, and when I managed to contact her she confessed that she had been frightened by the depth of her feelings and wanted to come back without any changes at all.  People, men and women, do sometimes walk away from a satisfying relationship without talking about what went wrong, what could go better.  The fact it has not happened to you just means you should count yourself lucky.

RedMagic1 -> RE: Question of Slavery (2/8/2008 8:02:43 PM)

Or better able to select serious partners.  I think the ladies have you pegged.
