Freedom of speech is important and so why does Tom Cruise' ludicrous speech on yourtube get censored just because it shows scientologists as making claims they can't back up?

It'd be silly to see them as just one label, but that's how many people think, isn't it?  Freaking picking whichever suits them best and ignoring the other aspects after they can justify it.

But, look on the bright side.  If Scientology survives long enough, many'll regard Tom Cruise as people today do Jesus Christ; his struggles against society will be exagerated and someone'll make up some stupid "miracle".  His participation in religious movies will be regarded as profecy (sp?), and people will see his roots in Chirstianity like they did with Jesus's roots in Juedism.

And, despite how much people try to talk sense into their contemporaries, believers will insist that Scientology has the only answers, so they're probably the right answers.  That they need to believe in something or life is pointless.  And, thus, they'll want to teach the theory of aliens-throwing-other-aliens-in-valcanos to school children despite actual scientists' objections.

That's kinda how all religion makes me feel, up to the point it's sanitized.  Such as, sanitized Scientology may be, "We don't actually believe alien spirits huant us, but that was just a metaphor."  Which, of course, will be bull, but it'll help Scientologists maintain their faith amist criticism and growing antipathy for its lies.  Then they can say, "It's not a religion, it's just spirtuality, which is different."  And it being watered-down with less obvious lies will protect it for a while, at least in the minds of some.

SL4V3M4YB3:  I'll get the video camera.  I'm sure Mr. Cruise would appreciate the increased historical accuracy in the Passion's sequel.

It will be a Yourtube production, humm going to have to up with some flashy graphics now. Ever noticed at the start of films they have the flashy graphics saying who the production companies are and then they say it again in text. That's a bit annoying that is, but oh well.

The kid grows up and does all sorts of startling shit that most people don't believe even though they supposedly witnesed these miracles with their own eyes. He arranges his own crucifixion and then after being dead for three days ascends to the heavens.



The aliens that were blown to bits by the hydrogen bombs are looking better and better.

It's censored because Tom Cruise and other members Scientiology do not want the message for all to hear. It was and still is entended for only scientologist.

As for the OP, I think Anonymous is just a hate group of computer geeks. Instead of hiding behind with sheets and hoods, they choose to hide behind the interent with computer voices. It's obvious that Anonymous are do not practice Scientolgy. However, who are they and what do they really believe?

Sorry that runs counter to what I have heard, Tom Cruise was on that video to promote the faith of scientology so how on earth could it have only been intended for Sciontologists?

I think those guys went too far.

Trust me, I have no love for cults, (which I believe scientology to be) but I do have great love for the first ammendment. The "Church" of scientology has every right to express their views. Also, the guys in "Anonymous" have their right to speak out against it, and to point out the "religions" flaws.

But they don't have the right to fuck with the "churches" equipment, or to effectively censor it. There's a truisim about "the freedom to swing your fist ends at the beginning of my nose."

Scientology will live or die (like all ideas) depending on if people find anything of value in it. Same with all religions. (How many people do you know who still follow the denziens of Olympus? It was a religion that held sway for a while, then a better idea came along.)

Disclamer: I'm agnostic and consider all religions cults. Blind faith in what there is no evidence of other than a book(written by man) and population count of believers is ignorant at best, IMO.

I don't think that Scientology can be considered a religion. Scientology hides it's "teachings", and aggressively censors those who attempt to spread them via DMCA takedown notices and other legal action, such as suing for copyright infringement. Contrast  that against "legitimate" religions(bigger cults), where they attempt to spread their teachings for the betterment of mankind. And, save for asking for donations, most religions don't actively charge their following to be a member(I'll ignore catholicism and the dark ages here). Now, ask yourself, what religion exploits it's followers in the ways that scientology does?

To me, that is the deciding factor in cult vs religion.

Now, about Anon. being Heroes or Terrorists...... neither. Are you terrified of the kids from 4chan? The word "terrorist" gets applied *way* to liberally, especially now. Heroes? Who have they saved, and what is their motivation? Some legitimately see scientology for what it is, but most are just a bunch of kids hiding behind the anonymous factor and having fun rebelling. It doesn't matter what they rebel against, if you harness them and give them a direction, they organize and attack. See partyvan/raidchan for examples made daily. Collarme could just as easily be made the next target.

Christianity hid back in its early days, too.  Plenty of stories about how they all went into hiding and had secret-society type meetings in basements and such because the common man thought of them as being a cult.

Christianity hid because you could be killed for practicing a religion other than the religion of the nationstate of which you belonged to, and they still attempted to spread their religion actively. Scientology actively hides it's teachings through litigation. You're comparing apples and ball bearings.

The message was and is intended only for scientologists?

I think you left out one little modifier in that: it's only intened for scientologists who have been properly indoctinated, and who have paid the money. (The money being the really important part.)
