Hey there, my name's Mike. I'm 20, and I've been into BDSM since I was 15. I'm not "new" to the site(or BDSM) in the true sense of the word, as I joined a few years(and I've been in previous D/S relationships) back but never really participated due to being too busy, and then I moved off on my own to Utah last year. In Utah I became more active, and got involved a little in the local community, but then again became busy with work and other responsibilites... a shame really, because I really found the local scene to be very accepting and welcoming to inexperienced people such as myself. So, here I am, third time's a charm hopefully. Inbetween work(I'm a sysadmin, and an electronics repair technician) and soon college I'm going to have a rather full plate, but I look forward to getting to know other like minded people.

As for more general information about me, I'm a geek. I've always been a geek, with 12 years of experience in information security(which has lead to me being a sysadmin for an alexa top 200 site that a lot of you likely frequent), and I've been on the net since before I can remember. The first memory I've got is playing 'Bolo' over an appletalk VPN to my dad's work, at ~4 years old. All in all, I think my infatuation with IT has been a good thing. I'm not really a social butterfly in person, but being on the net's given me the opportunity to talk with and meet interesting people that I'd otherwise have no outlet to(collarme being a great example of this). Technology is enabling in ways that people never would have imagined 40 years ago.... A library? Pft, I've got google and p2p!

I'm also into photography. Not point and shoot, I started with an SLR shooting in B&W in middle school, and soon moved to digital. I mourn the loss of my DSLR, a Rebel XTi, but what the hey, it'll get replaced after I get resettled. I don't know why, but I find photography relaxing, and I think it sort of heightens the senses. That sounds awkward, but how many photos have you seen of everyday events, that when captured in a picture take on a new light? Finding that image before it happens, and then capturing it requires alot more attention to detail in life than just floating along.

I'm also into competitive shooting. I was in a few unsanctioned(I'll join when I grab my CCW next year) IDPA shoots in Utah, and found it alot of fun. I've been shooting since middle school, and used to think I was good just putting rounds to paper, but when you're actually out with a bunch of guys(and women) competing, you discover how bad you really are. Let's just say there's a lot of people I met that I would *not* want throwing rounds around at me, in any caliber. Handing them a .22 just means they'd hit me more.

Anyways, I look forward to making some new friends here on collarme. I'll see you around.
