What lie?  That congress writes the budget?  That's not a lie.

Well , when you have one party declaring that public education is bad ,wrong and should be done away with(in word and deed)and you have the other party trying to do as best as possible to educate our students, you get something inbetween and mediocre.

Al Gore wanted to put the internet in every classroom. The republicans killed it.

That shows things ,in a nutshell.

The republicans couldn`t care less about public education and attempt to starve it at every turn.

They don`t care about the US as a global competitor and care even less about preparing and educating our population to meet that challenge.

At the very least ,we should spend the same amount per student as they do in other industrialized nations.

Instead of saying "no" to interenet in all classrooms,we should be saying "hell yeah!" to things like that.

They are doing that in other nations, and we should in our`s.

Anything less is saying that you want us to be losers.

This "government is bad, government is the problem" bull shit has gotten us over a barrel, globally. If we don`t get our shit together and do what`s right,we will continue to slip behind other nations on every measure and scale.

Public education only exists to produce the sort of citizens that the state finds useful.

And it seems pretty obvious what kinds of citizens the current caretakers of the state would like to invest in.

Anyone else smell morlocs?

By law, the president is required to submit a proposed budget to the Congress every year.    Whether they send a version of his budget or a totally different budget back for presidential approval/ veto is up to the Congress.

In fact, the Republican controlled Congress in the early years of this administration did use Bush's budget with very few modifications made to it.

Yeah, NCLB is a democrat plan/program.Here comes the tin-foil hat squad.....

The republicans have been ruining things and doing damage for the last seven years, and all the neo-cons have to say is,"Last time I looked the Dems controlled Congress."
Now we can see why we`re in this mess, with logic like that.

Funny how the neo-cons are there for photo ops and to claim credit when things go right.

Everything else,lol,...all that fucked up and bad shit over there........that`s the democrats fault.lol

One thing that separates a neo-con out from the herd,is a distinct lack of a sense of responsibility.

We need a program called "leave the neo-cons behind",instead of NCLB.lol

Ah Muttling,

Don`t bother lucky with facts or big words/concepts.

His fantasy world has interchangable facts and depending on what day it is,can counter any and all arguements.

Neo-cons are omnipotent and above such things.

In her biography of George, "Shrub", Molly Ivins relates the experience of a New York artist who stayed with the Bush family at their house in Kennebunk, Maine. The artist was a chronic insomniac, and late at night when the rest of the family was sleeping, the artist got up to find a book to read in bed.

Although he looked throughout the entire house, he found only one single book, a collection of cartoons called, "The Fart Book"!

So, I don't think it's that Bush hates children, he simply doesn't see the need for reading; none of his family does!

maybe we could split that money, and send half of those books to the kids in Iraq?
my kids would be happy to share, 'specially if it means they get a new pen-pal [:D]

K-12 education in America is a joke.

Yes it is....but i suppose thats Bushs fault too eh?

Of course it is....everything is Bush's fault. If we had elected someone else there would be no hunger, no lack of funding for education and no terrorists. Geesh, don't you read the news?

Edited to add: Oh yea and gas would be down to a buck a gallon :O)

luckydog1 -> RE: Bush hates Children. (2/12/2008 9:41:34 AM)

Yeah my world is full of fantasy like Congress writes the budget.  And Ted Kenedy was a major supporter of NCLB.  And that in the early Bush Administration, the Democrats ran the Senate, after that one guy switched sides.  I also have this wierd fantasy that the Democrats could have cut off money/ended the war, if they and actually wanted to.  And that they could attempt to impeach Bush, if they wanted to.

Yep owner I live in this crazy fantasy world....
