If you are diabetic (as I am, type II) you can have chocolate once in a while. In fact, I prefer to keep a few "fun size*" bars in my duffel bag, which I'll use instead of glucose tabs, if my BS crashes to the point of getting the shakes.

Chocolate is actually good for you, if used properly. Ask your Doctor for verification, but simple sugars really don't impact you that badly... the real enemy is, and always has been carbs. Stay away from the flour, the rice, the breads and cookies. That's the stuff that pushes you up into the high range and keeps you there!

Oh, and I didn't vote for Snickers. My one true love in candy bars is the Clark Bar. (Similar to a butterfinger, but the core is denser,  a bit sticker, and more flavorful. IMHO)

*I have no idea why they would think a candy bar the size of my thumb should be called "fun size" ... to me, that should be called "sad size." Gimme something as big, or bigger than my cock, thank you very much... now THAT's "fun size!"

Aylee -> RE: Favorite candy bar? (2/10/2008 7:57:02 PM)

I chose "none of the above" because none of those listed are dark chocolate.

Pretty much any dark chocolate I will eat.  Some are def. better than others.  The "darker" the better.

Simple sugars, as all sugars, are carbs. They all turn into glucose once inside the body.

i've also heard that Hershey is copping out and going overseas....if so, they will lose my patronage.
Its not  a rumor..they are pulling out and going overseas...the only thing they are leaving in the states is the coporate headquarters and of course the theme park.

100 Grand.  Mmmmmm...tasty! [:D]

tricia -> RE: Favorite candy bar? (2/11/2008 3:52:33 AM)

Out of your choices, Level - I chose Almond Joys.  The problem -- one never satisfies me.  I usually have to top it off with a king size Reese cup.

Another item I cannot eat in moderation -- anything Hostess.  And this is totally off the subject but i once called the Poison Control Center because Twinkies were recalled after they found asbestos in them.  I had eaten so many, I started to worry.  They assured me that I was fine.  Asbestos is only dangerous if it's inhaled.  I tried to explain to the woman that I practically did inhale them -- but I don't think she took me seriously.

They are damn good! Marathon Bars, too, but those are kaput, I think.

Hmmm, i really like anything dark chocolate.  But in high school, i had a thing for kitkats, people even called me kitkat.
now, i know that this one isn't a "bar" but i love those little Ferra Rochers and chocolate covered macadamian nuts.

my spelling on this one most likely sucks! Sorry.

Funny you should ask this.  I eat all my Hostesss the exact same way each time.  And I realize now, I shouldn't have said anything.  I have never had a snowball : (

NEVER HAD A SNOWBALL?   I looked you up, miss, and you aren't in some backwater third world country.  How can this be? (Of course you might hate coconut which would do the trick.)

The ability to peel the coating of a snowball off the cakey mounds of Hostess goodness in one, untorn piece is a time-honored school lunch test of ability.  It also becomes, in about 4th grade, a sure-fire test for virginity.

I chose Baby Ruths - love that chewy nutty taste!  But My very favorite is Chick 'o Sticks, similar to peanut butter logs.

Yes, a bunch will be left out, so feel free to write in votes.

I usually avoid candy  [:(]
BUT, when I need some,
I like Mr. Goodbar, Ferrero Raffaello or Russell Stover's SF Pecan Delights.

Chloelicious -> RE: Favorite candy bar? (2/17/2008 11:44:32 AM)

None of the above because my favorite candy bar (sort of) is cote d or chocolate: milk with grilled salted almonds
