Taken from the 'ADD and the Lifestyle' thread in General BDSM.Are you ADD or any of the related acronyms? (ADHD, OCD etc) Either diagnosed or undiagnosed applies for the 'w/ ADD'.

This poll will count for nothing if people are allowed to give clinical assessments of themselves. Why is it people think they can look up symptoms of something and say yep that’s me. I suffer from daily broken legs I'm not joking I have a pain in my leg and the internet tells me that pain is a symptom of having a broken leg therefore I’m constantly suffering broken legs.

If you read the thread that I referenced, you will see that some replying have not been officially diagnosed. Hence the inclusion of self diagnosis.

Self diagnosis is people telling Doctors what they think is wrong with them. It's not very reliable as these symptoms for these condition could be related to many other things entirely. If it is undiagnosed then they don't have the condition until a professional diagnoses it. Self diagnosis counts for nothing, it may not be nice to hear but it's far too easy for people to look up symptoms these days and think they know better because they are living these symptoms. Where as what they need to do in reality is allow someone trained and impartial to asses them.

i have told a doctor what is wrong with me and have been right many times.  Same with my children.
Just because they are doctors doesn't mean they know our bodies or our heads the way we do.  i do how ever have great respect for most doctors who actually will listen and take into consideration my thoughts about my own self.  It's the ones who think that they are too smart and educated to not listen and then get it wrong.

Good for you Dr BBWnNC72

I'm sure the good doctors are the ones that listen to peoples opinions as to what they think is wrong with them to help their diagnosis. When you say you were right many times does that mean you just got the Dr to agree with you, I'm wondering who told you that you were right?

I didnt  need Drs to  tell me I had arthritis ...  I knew about two they found three ... i needed them to treat it...  When my  daughter was diagnosises ADHDextreme borderline ADD  in comparing her to  me I know what I have been dealing with  since age 10 But there again ...  I have learned to  deal with it ... I know I am I know I cope ... and I know I am not gonna pay them all that  money to  find out what I do know

some things you can just deduct. Like I fit every single symptom for folliculitis including the pictures of the little boils that form when you get it. So, while I'll still ask the dr, I am 99 percent certain she'll tell me everything I read about treating it on a medical website. I can tell her what I suspect, and she can examin me, and then probably confirm what I guessed.
