This begs the question. How many people here are living life with a passion. As far as voting goes. We have the right to vote or not to vote. As far as who we vote for if you dont like who we elect then run for office yourself. What makes anyones country better than ours. Sorry op.

I'm confused. People can live dry lives and vote, or passionate lives and not vote. Are you trying to make a point on this strand from some other group of messages? Because i actually find this rude and probably should stay on the off subject group.

The collarme message board sure is filled with drama queens.

Really, every other thread makes me want to ask someone, 'who lit the fuse on your tampon'?

I am not sure Domyar came across as and absolute one or the other--some are passionate about politics--not me this election sheesh--but I don't see passion and drama as one and the same...jmho

I don't want or need to hear or get into your drama...live and let live...it is what it is...how do you handle drama within your bdsm family/community??

Then why not pratice what you preach - why are you bringing it to the boards?
How do I handle it?  Differently to you, obviously.

CrazyC I was just defering to one of the answers on here. I really dont care how you find my answer. That could go to an off subject group also. If you have a complaint my mail box is always open. Again my appoligies to the op.

No.  There are people who thrive on drama everywhere you look.  Whatever your social circle is is where you will find them.

I don't think there are so many; it's just that they have to emote all the time, everywhere, that it just seems like it!

Be honest to them, "You're being a drama queen over that. Most people get over far worse without whining."

It may lose you a few friends, but did you really want them as friends in the first place?

Those for whom it is just a passing phase will get over it anyway and come back; ***** the rest.

I hesitated to respond to this thread...

I do not know any real life lifestyle people other than my Daddy. So sincerely I do not know if there are more lifestyle drama queens than other types. There is very little drama in our relationship. I find that when there is a group of people meeting for any particular purpose, drama can happen. At my work drama happens, and I cannot always escape it, but generally my life is pretty drama-free. I suppose this was one reason I am not eager to join a local BDSM group, it does seem like people that go to those things are very into drama.

In life I am so focused on what it is that I am doing I do not pay much attention to drama. What we focus on grows.

tricia -> RE: Drama Queens (2/13/2008 7:54:13 AM)

While I've followed this thread -- I  didn't want to feel the need to come back and defend my original response.  As I orignally said, I consider myself a drama queen.  I cry a bit more.  I laugh a bit harder.  I also appreciate the tiniest of things more than the average person.  I also believe I'm a bit more empathetic than the average person.  I'm passionate -- I'm just passionate about many, many things.  (Politics not being one of them)  I'm a kaleidoscope of emotions and the people who choose to be in my life don't have a problem with it.  In fact, many think it's part of my charm.

So, I guess in my opinion, it's suffice to say that most peoples definition of drama and/or drama queen is different than mine.  I don't believe it's always negative. (Just like your definition of submissive, dominant, etc may be different than mine.)

Luckily, I don't attend lifestyle events, so you're safe.  The reason?  I find most women to be catty bitches.  Negative drama I don't participate in.

edited to add: this was just a fast reply

There is SO much truth to this statement, it deserves to be highlighted.

well you can ask all my tribe, they have all heard the same thing from me ad-nausium....i simply look them in the eyes and say "if i thought for one minute that you whining and carring on was supportive to your growth and this family i would support  you in doing it....but its not, so i cant." and then i walk away or hang up.

conquer4love -> RE: Drama Queens (2/13/2008 3:17:57 PM)

I have little time or tolerance for drama, my mother, sister and brother are the only ones that I accept drama from.

I don’t allow drama in my relationship and have become very good at spotting it and ending it, and if I can’t end the drama I end the relationship.

Friends have tried to bring drama in the past, now they are acquaintances.

I feel life is way to short to waste time on drama that has no positive gain.

Yes.

Domme and sub, alike.

Leatherist -> RE: Drama Queens (2/13/2008 6:54:02 PM)

My view is basically this. I like to solve problems.

People who's only business in life seems to be creating needless ones-soon find themselves having no place in it-I have more productive things to spend my time on.

In my life-

I have resented people who took my time.

Enjoyed people who shared my time.

But treasured people who MADE me time.

Enough said.
