Sick Pets - 2/11/2008 9:15:17 AM

Last night, I was rather sick.  I'd just finished spending half of the weekend at home with my sisters for their 17th birthday.  As I was leaving, I began to notice that I was getting sick.  I started to think that I wouldn't be able to make my entire trip back without resting, so I called my Owner and asked if I could sleep at her place for a few hours.  She was out visiting, and she said it was fine since I have a key to her place anyway  I was only kind of sick at this point, so I thought I'd be just fine after a nap.  I slept from about 2-9, I think...and when I finally got up, I was so sick I could barely move.  I was freezing to death even though I had the head on full by blast.  So, I called my Owner and left her a message...and then she cut her visit about half an hour short to come and take care of me.  Long story short, she nursed me back to health quite nicely.  She made me tea, gave me medicine, and kept me company.  As of this morning I'm a lot better.

My question...  Do you take care of your pet when he/she is sick?

Shawn, let Me start by saying that I'm glad you're feeling better.  I'm not surprised one bit that your Owner took care of you.

As to your actual question, I'd like to think that I take care of My sub when he's sick.  Not the easiest task, since he's a nursing student.  I actually prefer him here when he isn't feeling well, so that I can watch over him and make sure he's getting what he needs.

Hi Shaun glad your feeling better.  My boy loves it when he is poorly because of how much I take care of him lol. Not that I dont anyway lol but he loves how much I fuss over him till he gets better and he does exactly the same for me when I am ill.

I almost dread getting sich in front of Mistress!  I'm the type that would rather wither and die before I let someone take care of me...LOL  I'm too independent.  Mistress, however, has very different plans.  Her nurturing side would definitely come out and She would probably make a huge fuss over me.  Knowing Her diabolical mind, She'd give me a chicken soup enema to aid in the healing process!  LMAO

Although, the thought of Her in a black latex nurse's outfit certainly piques my curiosity!  *cough cough*  Uh oh...I'm feeling warm!

Yes without question or hesitation, he would do it for me, why wouldn't I do it for him? I take care of what belongs to me coupled with the facts that I love and adore him. Anyone who is too high on their horse to take care of a sick sub/pet/slave/insert label here is someone who really needs to get over themselves.

I would not do that for every slave I play with, but for a cherished pet, of course.  I remember once taking three days off work when My first boy had a bad flu.  If I have emotional attactment to the slave, then My Italian Mom instincts will come out!

What a question! This is still about human beings, about relationships, about love. If we lost our compassion, our love, our care for our subs/slaves/pets ... why would lose what is at the core of this deepest type of relationship, which we call D/s.

Just my two Euro-cents,

The problem is that it isnt always about human beings on here, MsSavra.  Some of us love our pets, and some people put on as if they couldnt care less about their property and if they are an inconvenience they should be put aside until they can be helpful again.
Fox felt horrid, had a fairly bad fever and was curled up miserable on the couch, and still for some reason felt it necessary to apologize for not getting the dishes done. Like I cared at that point that I had to wash them when he could not even sit up long enough to drink a whole cup of tea at one time?
I did now a girl back when I was still learning who would send her slaves home if they were ill, becasue she didnt want to take care of them for fear of catching it. Her time was too precious to her to spend any of it sick, and she refused to put herself at risk even if that meant her boys or girls werre sitting at home alone. You would be surprised how many dominants see themselves as above their pets that way, and wont ower themselves to serve a slave while they are sick becasue it makes them the submissive party for a short time and thats not permissable.

Fox is doing better, not perfect but I am fairly confident he will be over this bug shortly.  I didnt catch it, thankfully, but I pan on uping my Vitamin C until I am sure I dodged the bullet.

Yes, without hesitation.  My brat is sick and in another state.  If he was here, I'd be fussing over him.  I value him as a person, friend, and as someone I truly care about.

Glad to see that you are feeling better.

And most definitely yes, I care about my Boys and I would worry if one of them got sick, just like they worried about Me when I was sick.

Of course. I'm as responsible for my puppy's well-being as he is for mine.

The one time I was sick when Daddy was around it was from eating to much sugar, and yes he took care of me. He got me a towl to wipe up with when I vomited and he put me in bed and let me sleep, and packed my bags up, cause I was supposed to be going home the next morning.

Any expert who dabbles in peeps...Knows that if there ever was a peep that could be consumed it must be stale.

*pouts... ever so cutely... well, as cute as is possible when one has the flu*

I've got the flu.  Today my temperature is 104 and I completely lost my voice.  There is no owner/domina (or anyone else for that matter) to look after me.  Are there any volunteers in the house? :-)  Even just a little karmic energy sent my way would be very much appreciated.

Elan.

I think I have the flu too.  It's 2:30 am, and my fever is acting back up and I can't sleep at all. :-(

Being sick sucks.
