TermsConditions -> Words to strike fear: Valentine’s Day! (2/11/2008 3:26:13 PM)

Many of you are served by accomplished subs who * I know * have February 14 covered to the nth degree. But others of us are merely unwashed men, struggling to shuffle in the vague direction of perfection and servitude. And in a retrograde path no less.

So about Valentine’s Day would set your heart aflutter, float your boat, set your motor running, etc?
What gift, gesture, act of appreciation and affection would put your pet/sub/man in your good graces?

You see, I have a friend that is struggling with this problem and I, err, he is looking for some ideas. :-)

I understand that in Chinese the symbol for Valentine's Day is a combination of the symbols for Danger and Opportunity. :-)

I know one of my Boys is planning something for me on the day, I have an idea, but I dont want to spoil something that is obviously fun for him to plan and execute, as for anything else, personally I think just being appreciated and told I mean something to them would make My day.

*sigh*

Valentine's Day sucks.

Love is a blind kid with a sharp object.  [:'(]

I realize I only speak for myself, but if I came home on V-Day to find my sidewalk shovelled, I'd be in heaven! Heh heh heh.

What's something you did in the first year of your marriage -- or your courtship -- that you haven't done for a long time?  What first interested her when you were flirting?

Probably my biggest romantic grand gesture went like this.  It was for my wife and i'm really not sure if it was Valentines, her birthday, our anniversary or a random tuesday.

i gave her a bouquet of sterling roses, but i had removed one rose and replaced it with a silk rose of the same shade with the note:

"My love for you will last until the last rose dies."

i think going with the old classics always work (things like candies and flowers), but i recommend that you do something that gives it a nice personal touch.

just another day around my house.  don't need one specific day to say i love you, i prefer to spread it thru the year.

Valentine's Day lost its appeal around Freshman year of high school.

I prefer my shows of romantic affection not to be bound to saintly feasts or any other calendar event.

My boy is actually giving Me something that no one ever has before.  Just the same as I'm giving him.  On Valentine's Day, I'll be branding him.

This is close to my own viewpoint.  I get roses all delivered all year round for various reasons, I receive gifts out of the blue, and every day I get breakfast in bed (or at my desk, whatever I choose), so there really are no romantic things that are extra. The other reason it's not practical is because he doesn't make his own money, so anything extravagant has to go through me anyway.  He'll end up giving me something small as a surprise, but we agree on most larger gifts.  This year it's a car and a trip to las vegas, not necessarily in that order. I go to 50 hockey games a year, that could easily be considered my combination birthday/valentine's day/christmas gift and I wouldn't want anything to change that, it's the gift that keeps on giving!  But I got that before he was in my life.

As for advice to men: Spa gift certificates or new shoes (gift receipt for exchanges) are always good for your wife/girlfriend/lover.

I'll tell him you said so.  I'm afraid he stepped out to get sugar because I decided I wanted waffles.  This past week, he's only mentioned how excited he is about it about ten times a day.

I 100% expected someone to respond with this sentiment. And I’m 100% surprised it was you!
These things seem boundless: the capacity of people to surprise and my own poor judgment.

If any women on CM are feeling neglected I will be willing to purchase you anything you want with your own money. It's the thought that counts after all.

Valentine's Day is just another day in My house.. My boy is always filling My days with surprises whether its a card, or flowers or foot massages etc... However, since I still have alot of vanilla girlfriends there is always a gift giving session (sadly for bragging rights, lol)!!  This year W/we headed to key west for the weekend... ;) and I received some jewelry from Tiffany's. But the best gift in the world is always him at My feet... humbly on his knees.

[:(] I don't think I will see anything this year---seems no one thinks of things to do like e-cards even---

Lol...what can I say, I like to keep people on their toes.

I send a lot of Valentines out to friends and family, actually.  Just don't have anyone to be romantic with.  Hence the [:'(]

MsIncontrol -> RE: Words to strike fear: Valentine’s Day! (2/11/2008 7:51:57 PM)

I think something with a lot of thought and sentiment is really nice.  Last year my husband made me a set of "coupons" on business card paper and gave them to me in a beautiful leather card case.  He never kept the ones I redeemed so I get to keep them in circulation all year.  They were cute little things...that under our contract were my rights anyhow...but it made it fun.  I plan to continuing using them until they disintegrate from use.

This year he has asked my permission to have a remote starter installed in my vehicle.  He said he wants to be sure that my car is nice and warm (or cool) when I get in it, even when he isn't available to prepare it for me.  VERY SWEET!

MsCfromMelbourne -> RE: Words to strike fear: Valentine’s Day! (2/12/2008 3:09:23 AM)

Dear TC

Any old submissive can do the usual jewellery, flowers, chocolates, dinner and a schmalzy card.  Big deal!!!

If you love your Domme, February 14 is an excellent day to get on one knee and propose marriage [:D]

Good luck!!

MisPandora -> RE: Words to strike fear: Valentine’s Day! (2/12/2008 5:00:51 AM)

I long ago gave up on leaving the 'set your heart aflutter' to the boys.  This week, one of my dear friends whom I consider a sister and I are going on a dinner date, complete with flowers, champagne, truffles and an executive chef cooking tableside for the two of us.  The love we share is far greater than that of those who vye for my attention these days!
