HAVANA (Reuters) - Ailing Cuban leader Fidel Castro took on front-running U.S. Republican presidential candidate John McCain on Monday, accusing him of lying about Cubans torturing American prisoners of war in Vietnam.

At a campaign stop in Miami last month, the Arizona senator told anti-Castro exiles that American POWs held with him in Hanoi were tortured by "a couple of Cubans."

"His accusation against the Cuban revolutionaries ... are completely unethical," Castro wrote in an article published by the ruling Communist Party newspaper Granma.

"The commandments of the religion you practice prohibit lying," he said of McCain, who was raised an Episcopalian and calls himself a Christian.

More than likely they were just very tall Vietnamese..with Cuban accents...and bushy beards...smoking Partagas cigars...named 'Fidel' and 'Raoul'...

I wonder if Castro realizes that his insults are almost endorsements.  Sorta like if Satan came out of Hell and started screaming, "Don't buy those rosaries!  Get the other ones!"

LMAO......Castro is obviously trying to sway the latino vote away from McCain, but the VAST majority of latino's would vote for McCain just because Castro said "don't do it".

I'm not sure if the guy is an idiot against McCain or an intelligent McCain supporter.

I'd say they don't revolt against him because he rules by fear and full control of the media.  That's why people flee the place by the hundreds.

One of the "murdered" folks you list was an American citizen shot down while bombing a oil refinery with a B25.
The rant by the base ball player is about something that may or may not have happened when his father was ten years old. 
That hundreds are leaving Cuba (a country of over 11 million) is something about which you should alert the press.
If you are not willing to be serious why post?

I asked for some sort of proof of his allegations.  If you have some proof to offer please do.  If not ....then why the post?
You mention "brutal dictatorship" does this imply that there is a "benign dictatorship"?

My work here is done.  You've called people who've actually experienced things liars, because obviously you know it better than they do.  You've completely ignored the articles and sites I directed you towards, which had multiple articles within them.  Very, very good.

If you want to discuss this further, feel free to find me on the other side.  I'm done here.  I've given proof.  You haven't.

The whole world knows the Beard is a tyranical murderer, and I'd say he needs to prove nothing.  Where is your proof that he is not a brutal, murdering thug?  When people leave their home country in mass exodus since the Revolution, than that in and of itself is a revolt.  I know it's not as simplistic and wrapped up in a neat little, commie package for you.  But it doesn't take away from the truth that Castro has to force his best and brightest to stay in that shithole.

Posting from anti Castro sites is hardly proof.
The baseball player you cite is hardly someone who was there.  His father was ten years old when he left Cuba.  You did notice that didn't you?
When your own cites claims that when the Cuban air force shoots down a plane that is bombing the sovereign nation of Cuba it is murder it automatically looses its credibility.  What were they suppose to do, invite him for lunch?
This is a discussion board and if you are disinclined to defend your position then do as you choose.
