Thank you all for the suggestions and words of encourgement. Eventually, I think I'll overcome this.

You may also want to explore with a therapist the causes of these attacks, something perhaps in your past (recent or ancient) may have made being out of control of yourself equate to danger.

It is scary how so many things make sense when someone else says them. There are definitely times in my past that might be causing these.. I'm going to look into all this and figure something out, I just can't handle this anymore.

If you've ever seen animal trainers 'take-down' an aggressive dog, or 'drop' an aggressive horse, think along the same lines. I've been forced through a panic attack. When I said 'push through' I was thinking in my head 'someone else' pushing you through it. Sorry for the clarity issue on that one.
Being hauled through a panic attack is much like trying to break an animal, dangerous, and destructive, and generally unacceptable to most people with any form of empathy.
I don't consider myself terribly strong, I can open my own jars, ect, but when you are forced through panic, adrenaline takes over and you forget who is there with you and what's going on. Such an exercise resulted in me breaking bindings and throwing someone bodily into a nightstand and indirectly breaking a hole through the bedroom wall.

Got it, thanks for the clarification. I own horses, we don't use crops or harsh bits or dig in with spurs. And I've turned down large offers of cash on the show horse simply because I disapprove of the buyer. If/when he goes up for sale, I won't make much money but he'll be in a good home and that's what's important to me.

Maybe giving up control isn't for you. Or you could try small things at a time until you work your way up to where you want to be. Take your time, have fun, and have safe words so that it doesn't get to a full blown panic attack. Goodluck with whatever you choose to do.

Hm...the only time I've had a panic attack during playtime was when he got me so worked up that when he told me he was going to bite my nipple off, I believed him...it was the first time we'd ever tried fear play.  Taking it slower the next time was what helped, and knowing that if I DID freak out he would stop and comfort me.

I have had panic attacks off an on for about 6 years. They are brought on by all kinds of things and have happened in many different situations. I have had them during scenes. When they have happened during a scene it is generally a very intense scene where my brain can't quite wrap around what is happening to my body. Usually I can calm myself down, but there have been times that I have tried to run away from the situation or just layed there and shook while hyperventilating. It may be helpful for your Master to have you focus on Him while he talks you through, after of course you use your inhaler and aren't in danger of suffocating. It is very helpful for me to have someone's voice to focus on. It also is helpful for me if I am held very tightly while I am focusing and trying to calm down. I have been told that it is just as scary for the other person involved as it is for me. I am not big on taking medication, so I have tried to find other ways to fight the anxiety. This is not to say that I have not taken medication for an attack. I have and I keep some on hand just in case I cannot control it.  I wish you luck in getting control of these attacks. I hope that your Master is able to support and help guide you through this.
