If you don't want to be crammed into a seat next to someone can you book yourself two seats, even though it's just you?

But, but, but, popeye, you're so much fun to tango with!

If my lard ass was a problem and I had to pay an 'excess', I would have no objection, within reason, to doing so. What I am trying to do is find out if one exists, and I will do that tomorrow when I call up to find out. If I want your views regarding fat people in general, I'll come ask you and we can chew the fat, so to speak!

Poeple tend to focus on those individuals that 'stand out', Aneirin. Yet, if a person was intent on causing grievous damage to facilities/people they aren't likely going to advertise the fact prior to doing so. So it sounds like very poor training to me. I was coming back from abroad and got chatting to a lady who was wearing an extremely large fur coat. The rest of her attire was in keeping with the fur coat and I couldn't help but think that the coat was way too big for her. Someone, two persons infront of us got stopped going through customs (they were pretty grungy in appearance). She smiled politely and was waved through, same with me. We collected our baggage and made our way to the exit. I got chatting with her again outside and she confided that sewn into the lining of her coat were dozens of cartons of cigarettes. This was in the late 80s.

My stepfather was recently stopped when he attempted to go through customs in Spain. He managed to go through ours without a hitch, but they scanned him and found him to have something in his luggage that should not have been there. He protested his innocence, they took him aside and tore out his belongings before finding out that the offending article was a pair of manicure scissors which I had accidentally left in the case he took with him! He said they held him up for a good hour before letting him continue his journey - without the scissors.
