Perhaps this has been covered elsewhere, but...

I attempted to use the Search feature to find "submissive women" and selected
women who are "seeking Dominant Men".

The results produced a great many profiles saying things like,

"I'm owned by XYZ"  or  "I'm taken" or "not looking" or "just here for friends".

So....did I make an error?

Surely no one would deliberately place their ad in the wrong category?

Or IS there no category for "owned" females?

Or for the "just here to chat" types?

I often get a bit pissed when the profiles come up and say "NO MEN"  so then why did it come up in the search?

also while i'm here: I HATE the fact that I can search by minimum height but not max height. I like short girls under 5'3" and under preferencing 4'9-5'0"

but then again i just remember that its free and the boards are fun and that if i wanted to properly do profile to clearly define what i am looking for i would have to build several one for each type of person/type of relationship i'm looking for. and that is just plain rediculous.  so have try to have a bit of paitence and understanding.

Yes I know what you mean,  Its frustrating to go through profile after profile and see nothing but already collared, just want to chat.  I'm here with you the worst are dominates acting like sub.

Or the or so fun bisexual subs that have 'No single men' in thier profile.  Err, if you don't want your profile to get looked at by guys, why the hell did you put your profile as being Bi?  I mean, I know thats thier sexual orientation, but if they're only looking for same-sex partners, why not just put Lesbian or Gay and save yourselves the bother?  Strangeness...... also makes looking at bi-sexual subs profiles a pointless activity, as the 'No Men' qualifier is in about 80% percent of the Bi profiles in my local area.

Not everyone is here to hook up with someone there are people who already have their relationship and they are here merely to make friends and share ideas.

Perhaps the person already has a male in their life and is wanting to complete it with a female playmate. I know for me I am not a lesbian and putting that on my profile would be a lie. If I held that from a lesbian female and she thought I was only into girls it might end in a fight about not telling the truth and saying I was bi. Some lesbians don't want a bisexual mate.

I have to give you credit, though, most people who send me messages don't even bother looking at the profile to see if I am with someone or not.

I wish there were a section for already collared people not looking to hook up with anyone...

*fast reply*

In my experience the bi female profiles that say no men are a lot of the time actually men looking for attention from women that they can't get as themselves.  I've found that a lot of desperate people lie to get their jollies off, no big surprise.  So as much as I know I am a real bi-curious woman and I am here, I don't have faith in any woman on this site being who she says she is anymore...  I've had men who I have talked to for months suddenly pop up on a pink name and when asked why they say oh this is my feminine side...  and a woman who I was so geeked to meet, she seemed so real and fun, turned out to be a guy I had gone on a date with years prior who I didn't want to ever see again.  He knew who I was and used the things he had known about me before to make me like this woman he created...  luckily I found out before I met "her" in person.  I try not to even think about where that might have headed, he was a very creepy sort of person.

I'm not saying all the bi-sexual women on here are really men, I'm just saying I am very wary about believing people are who they say they are now.  And when you think about it, suddenly it makes sense...  NO MEN, well of course not, he already has a wang and doesn't need yours...  the profiles are usually over the top in femininity, with a beautiful photo in lingerie and perfect lighting...  as a man would expect a woman to present herself...  women tend to actually be much more practical than men trying to be women are...  and the information they give will be very vague and might even seem a little confusing, such as a female sub's interests including CBT and things like that...

hope that wasn't too off topic :)

I appreciate your question.  I know, in my case, there is no appropriate set of boxes for me to check.  I am a Mistress looking for male straights or bis that are subs or switches, have a daddy for when I need my own special needs met, and say specifically that I'm not looking for an LTR.  Roughly one out of every 3 people viewing me is a Dom, many of them wanting to secretly tell me about their own switch side and how much they would like to be in an LTR with a Mistress by their side.  I don't dare put switch or sub in my profile - LOL.

Sorry I didn't even answer the OP,

They may be seeking out dominant men for advice, as some people are still learning and would like as much input as possible even if they have a man in their life already, or simply trying to make friends in the lifestyle.  This isn't just a personals site, it's a community...  even though I am not a submissive I have the dominant men box checked on my profile because I want to get to know a wide variety of people.  If you get the feeling they are contradicting themselves it's probably because you're looking for something they don't have to offer...  checking the box only means "hey I want to show up on your search so you can see me and contact me if you want to."  Just because you don't want to (because you wouldn't get what you want from them) doesn't make them wrong for checking the box.  :)    Or maybe they are just idiots who made a mistake when they filled out their profile...  it happens :)

i am one of those who has "actively looking" boxes checked for several categories.  i am also owned and definitely not looking for a male of any sort.  The reason the Dominant Males category is checked is my Master's doing.  He wants other men to look at my photos and profile.  He wants them to write messages to me.  He wants them to see what they passed up.  This is the reason my profile has been up since He became my Master, although now we're looking for a subbie friend for me.  Not all the subs/slaves on CM have total control over what goes on with their profile.  Some have written to point out my "mistake" and i always write back with a polite note to explain.  Sorry if this causes you Dominants (or Dominates, for some) extra work.

Actually, one can be both a Dominant AND a sub.  I know that I've discreetly approached Doms that looked interesting to me until I found the right One.  I am still a Mistress to my subs, but a slave to that One.

Did it finally get to you after seeing it all over the boards?

The OP's question seems to have been answered with a lot of suggestions. It amazes me to see the many permutations of sexuality that exist. I'm sure the same "combinations" (without the dominant and submissive parts) exist in the vanilla world as well. We just don't hear as much about them.

I had the same question the OP posted, and I'm glad I have read this thread. It has been an eye-opener. Thank you all.
