A combo of Tammyjo's response of a sub communicating and actively working with and collaborating with the Dom(me) to manage the obstacles is a great approach. Sometimes the needs do not match up though and in such a case I think termsandconditions approach is a good one...And I also have no problem arranging or being open too my sub being topped or played by another person with my permission and such.
