ORIGINAL: thetammyjo At that point, if they brought me a gift I'd be surprised and if it were flowers, I'd just get up and leave. I'm taking notes here... Would chocolate be better ? wine ? (these are the 3 things I always give to friends) OK, that wouldn't be something surprising, I guess the next time I court someone I should work on making surprising gifts (I hope it's still OK to offer these to friends !)... [search surprising gift]glasses, plates, books, lamps, CDs, sex toys, pictures, perfume, kitten, piece of meteorite, mirror, gun, pen, tickets for an opera, keyboard, teapot, chessboard, rucksack, bike saddle...[/search surprising gift] No, I can't find anything that would be both surprising and have fair chances to be a pleasant surprise. Of course ! Candies ! As in the song. I put the link for you, KC692 . My point was that for me, at least, a gift would reflect that the person took time and energy to get to know me well enough to find me something that I'd value. And, as an aside, I think taking that time to get to know me than showing up for a meeting and being as you were in email or at the munches is enough. I'm not kinky to get gifts or tribute or whatever -- I am, cause I am. Love, Peace, Hugs, Kisses, Whips & Chains, TammyJo
