Has anyone breastfed their offspring after having a nipple piercing? I have a friend with concerns now that she is pregnant. She is concerned there will be issues with this.

I too have often wondered about this. No... I have no plans on breastfeeding in the near future... *Waits for more replies...

Depending on the piercing placement she should not have any problems. Little mouths take in the whole nipple and any leakage is still contained. If she can take the rings or bars out for feeding it should be safe. Captured balls and screw on balls can be a problem as they could be removed by a suckling child. The best one for her to ask is going to be her OB-GYN. poenkitten
