In another post, mention is made of a person's hemisphere of thinking, they saying that they are either right or left brained,(makes a change from no brain).

Not sure of my direction, but I was  60% left brain, last time I looked into it whilst studying in art, So, I am not sure on this one, perhaps I will have to analyse it a bit more.

So, if you know your dominant hemisphere of thought, may I ask  what type of work you do for that brain direction and does it help knowing this information?

Another thought, if you know your brain thinking direction, may I ask if you are submissive or dominant? I am just wondering, analysing if there is a correlation between your label and your dominant hemisphere of thought?

How does one go about finding out which hemisphere is stronger?

(I almost said, "dominant," until I realized it might be misunderstood.)

You also forgot the small segment of people who are "middle brained"

I am middle brained. *smiles*

I took the lovely test at school when they were trying to shuffle us all off into our career counciling.

I am in the middle of the road.

I work in Finace right now as a Senior Claims Manager. My home business is a Historical Costume as well as Fetish Gear.
I am Bi, and Domme... but I do Ocassionaly bottom for the sensory input.

Here is more on Right/Left Brainieness http://www.viewzone.com/bicam.html

There are a lot of ways to do "whole brain thinking" a few books are written on it.. and quite a few websites. I didnt include any because more are asking you to buy something.. and most seem flakey. If you wish do some looking around. Some of it is very helpful.

Here are some simple online tests... mind you they are the crappy online ones.

http://www.web-us.com/brain/braindominance.htm

*chuckles* I got

Which Side Do You Use?
You responded as a right brained person to 9 questions, and you responded as a left brained person to 9 questions.

You responded as a right brained person to 15 questions, and you responded as a left brained person to 3questions.

And I'm submissive. Also way right brained.

Thank you, Gwyn. As I suspected, I am primarily right-brained.

I'm a sub. I am also a writer. (Although I am OCD about grammar.)

The concept of right brain/left side explains a few things, like why I can raise my left eyebrow by itself, but not the right eyebrow. Also why the loss of sight in my right eye doesn't totally throw me. I have lost much of my depth perception, but my brain tends to fill it in if I look at something long enough.

Blah. As usual, pop psych simplifies matters to the point where it's pointless.

Yes, you should.

I'd like to think I employ them both, as appropriate.

Doubtful. That said, the alpha trait is correlated with high serotonin activity, among other things. Nothing as simple as mere hemispheres.

Health,
al-Aswad.

I liked this little test.  Not deeply scientific but good.

My results: You responded as a right brained person to 0 questions, and you responded as a left brained person to 18questions

hmmmm would you say that I'm left-brained? lol ...took it twice...same results.

Okay I am feeling like a no  brainer here trying to  figure this out
You responded as a right brained person to 12 questions, and you responded as a left brained person to 6questions. According to the Hemispheric Dominance test, you use your right brain the most. The summary briefly describes your dominance type.

I own a construction company, we build new homes and do renovations.
I am Dominant and bisexual. I don't know if this helps answer your questions or not.
Personally I don't think there is any ONE thing that makes a person Dominant or submissive, I think it is a combination of many factors.

I guess I use both sides.

That's interesting.  I always hated taking those kinds of tests in school.  I had to keep from laughing once when a guidance counselor sat down with me and explained the results to one of my tests.  Little did she know, I was high as a kite when I took it.  I thought tests were bullshit, and a piss poor way to judge a human being; I still do.  I am right brained or left brained depending on what I am doing.  You can't fit people into neat little boxes.

Oops! Forgot to answer all parts of the question.  My profs would kick My arse.

I'm dominant.  Work in cognitive research...(yep brain again). I don't think left/right will show any direct correlation to dominance/submission. That test does hint at the fact though that I can be anal retentive (majorly).  A place for everything and everything in it's place.  God loves order.
