this is for all of those, who, like me, dispise this overly-commercial holiday. All I see it as is a reason for guys to get a girl some chocolate and get laid for it. Thats it. I really see no sentimental value in this day at all.

i dont dislike this...its just that nobody has ever sent me flowers or choclate or candy or even had a date with.  so im going to go spend my tax refund money that im getting today....

Or how about thinking that Valentines is another excuse for you to put aside extra time for the one you love (or love to fuck whichever) and spoil them.

Things are only souless and meaningless if you let them be.

Its like your birthday, we should always be nice to people and make them feel happy and indulged ... but your birthday is another chance to have that indulgence on a far grander scale.

I am alone today, I have had a shitty week and my heart has been beaten into little pieces, quite frankly anything would have been better this week than sodding valentines day ... but hey ... last year V-Day was great .. next year it will be too ... so I think its a good thing

besides .. tomorrow all the chocolates and flowers they didn't sell today will be on sale .. so i can pig out

This is how I feel about Valentine's Day: I do not like the commercialism and avoid it however, I LOVE this day and see it as a reason to celebrate the Good stuff. This is what I sent out today a bunch of people I care about:

Happy Valentine's Day to you and all the people you love and have loved throughout the years. 
I always think of the people I have loved on this day. I will be thinking of you and wishing you a day filled with pleasure. May the song in your heart and the fire in your mind continue to glow. All my best,Irish

agreed [:D] However, yesterday did not turn out to be a total waste. I now have a significant other. Its kind of like a vanilla relationship with some bdsm thrown in. Its nice though, not having to do a power exchange right now. May be just what I need right now.

Now, I love Valentine's Day.  It's the one holiday designed for the relationships we create, not the ones we are born into.... That's a blessing for many people... all those people with no where to go and no one to see for Xmas or TG... This is the one they can claim.  Dare I say, "we can claim?"

Instead of hating it, I always get those little boxes of cards and take them to the people at work.  You'd be amazed at how doing something so childlike and sweet can bring a smile to someone's face. 

I love Valentines Day - it's an excuse to remember to say all the stuff you forget in day to day life.

So Happy Valentine's Day to all the posters... Thank YOU  ALL for making me laugh, making me think, making my life much more interesting than it might have been... I adore YOU!

In fact Valentine's day is dedicated to love because,  in this period of the year birds start (after a long winter) to erect their ness.

Also in Europe at the middle age, this day  young guys were" lot drowing "youngs girls to be their partner for the current years( sexual and non sexual).In some part of france (if I am correct) some monks were running half naked around towns and village with thin pieces of leather and beaten up women (not as in BDSm) to assure them fertility.
