So many of us look at the holidays and think sheer commercialism, just another Hallmark Holiday and way to seperate us from our money. Well..Valentines day has a history that goes much further back than Hallmark can lay claim to. http://www.history.com/minisites/valentine/viewPage?pageId=882 is the site of the History Channels discourse on Valentines Day. It's not that long but trust me..it does have some interesting ways of celebrating it from the past.
