To some slavery means full time.  To others it is the extent that you are willing to give yourself over.  To still others it may mean things like always serving naked and never allowing any eye contact; but some subs are subjected to the same thing.

I applaud you for trying to learn.  This question, however, is one of the most subjective.  The answer really lies in each Dom/mes mind.

Status: offline 		There is no universal difference.  The difference between them varies from person to person.  In our house there is a vast difference between the two.  However, giving you our definition would mean little to you unless you wanted to join our house or wanted to adopt it as your own.

Status: offline 		lol...I just asked this question last week and got spanked for it...lol.

I'm new to this, too, and the conclusion I came to is that for the sake of speaking to others, a slave is completely subjected to his/her master's wishes, no limits, no protections (i.e., cleaning, sex, punishment, whatever the master/mistress says, goes.)   A sub obeys and submits, is dominated and controlled, primarily sexually (??) but there are limits, and they have more freedoms and rights. 

However, in the privacy of  relationship, you are whomever you and your partner say you are.
