azropedntied -> Healing time between exchanges (2/15/2008 4:52:14 PM)

After doing some great whip work on a great subbie gal , i told her  this may take some time to heal up . Speaking to her almost on a daily basis  the healing is still on going .
My question /s - whats the longest you have taken to heal after a intensive bdsm  exchange ?
Do you hide the marks ? wear them with pride showing all who wish to see ?
do you after the healing is done long for more and to push limits of prior activities ?
What about  the healing itself  as in do you smile when feel the pain upon you  reminding you of what took place ?
Thanks

I have left bruises that took weeks to heal. I've had marks that have taken months to heal (marks from being hooked). I've given marks that are most likely for life (scaring) and I've taken marks that I hope will be for life (branding). It all depends on what you do and how you do it...and what intent you have.

It's not quite fair that you told the girl AFTER the fact. She should have been able to give informed consent.

Well, if you called me subbie... you might be the one with bruises that take weeks to heal. [8D]

Being that i don't mark easily (at all) and those marks generally don't last long i am always super jazzed with any marks that i get....i will feel them, look at them over and over, try to take pics of them and show them to understanding friends.....i'm always disappointed when they go away, even tho i can generally feel a bit of tenderness. The longest i've had marks last were a week, usually if i mark they are gone in a few days. (with the exception of the random single tail pop mark that just seems to stay and stay)

To be honest, I'm really not sure.  I did My boy's first branding on Valentines Day.  I put it on his shoulder blade, so time will tell how long the mark will hold.

Congratulations to both of you.

Thank you, Red.  If you don't mind the terrible pun, I'm still stoked.

Master Fire , to make it  very clear , i did not tell her after the fact . That is not how i  am at all " here are some  marks  they take  a long time to heal see ya ." Ohh no far from it . The discussion was more in line of her wants desires and needs , and this was  her request .And she tells me she enjoyed it and still does i just wanted to get others input .I too have done  life long marking , cuttings scarifications ,branding's .But never  would i dream of  taking someone there on a  surprise type trip .sorry if that was not  made  more clear  .
cherry > i can relate to that on many levels  thanks ..

Hunter > i know what cha mean , but i  can always just shift to other areas  that are not  or less effected .
The more i type on the subjects of marks the more i hate being couped up here at the house .
Enjoy the weekend . and eachother .

christine1 -> RE: Healing time between exchanges (2/15/2008 9:38:10 PM)

i mark and bruise VERY easily and i love seeing and feeling them in the days afterward.

sweetwenchie -> RE: Healing time between exchanges (2/15/2008 9:45:56 PM)

i'm right there with you christine!

i bruise and mark easily, and they tend to last for quite awhile.  Love seeing and feeling them while i have them, and hate seeing them fade away.

Usually whip marks on me fade after a couple of weeks, what lasts longest is deep bruises and welts from caning, those i can walk around with for a month or more if the scene was particularly  heavy and intense.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Healing time between exchanges (2/15/2008 10:13:26 PM)

I'd say the longest was about six weeks from a very nasty whip welt on my hip.

Like Wenchie, I mark easily and heal slowly.  But I do not engage in pain/impact play very often anymore so it's rare to have marks like that.

littlebitxxx -> RE: Healing time between exchanges (2/15/2008 11:59:01 PM)

Alas, I'm the type that heals quickly from just about anything.  Tatt was a week, clit piercing 5 days.....so welts are gone next day, bruises in 2-3.  I just enjoy 'em while I can.

SassySarijane -> RE: Healing time between exchanges (2/16/2008 4:44:26 AM)

I've had marks last as long as 7 weeks before. In general depending on the play, they last 1-2 weeks. I very much enjoy the marks while they last, though I don't broadcast them. I keep them covered around certain family members. I enjoy the soreness/tenderness when I have some too.

Thank you.  I can't tell you how happy I was with it.

ExSteelAgain -> RE: Healing time between exchanges (2/16/2008 7:44:11 AM)

I used to flog and whip a married girl who couldn't let her husband find out about her play. It seemed like she would bruise so easily and would have to hide things for a long time until she healed. The same girl is separated now, living alone and I flog, whip and cane her much harder and zilch. She rarely marks or bruises. Maybe there is a psychological element when it comes to marking? The girl is relaxed with a trusted Dom, not worried about marks and she doesn't mark as easily?

beltainefaerie -> RE: Healing time between exchanges (2/16/2008 7:55:39 AM)

I mark easier from some things and than others.  I enjoy cupping for the marks.  We are more careful where I might mark if I am going to see my family.  For teaching I can cover nearly anything with turtlenecks or shawls.  Any other place, I wear my marks with pride and if they are visible, let people wonder.  If I get bruised, that usually lasts about a week, though I have had them take 3 to heal, depending.  red welts from crops, canes and the like usually take about a week to heal as well.  I had scars from knife play that lasted for four months.  I love looking at any marks while they last.

I have noticed for me that if we do impact play with canes and crops and it seems like I will mark, then he hits me with a broader, flatter implement, such as a tawse, it somehow diffuses the "damage" and I don't mark.  I wonder if anyone else has experienced this.

ExSteelAgain, I wonder if our bodies get used to the healing we expect from them and mark less if we are played with on a regular basis.  I used to mark fairly easily and I don't anymore.
