BitaTruble -> RE: Voting Question Poll (2/17/2008 2:12:45 AM)

~FR~ Politicians spend millions to get elected. Don't kid yourself into thinking that your vote isn't a commodity up for grabs. Not only that, but it's bought with both hard and soft sells. You're told what you want to hear.. so ya buy it and the price is your vote. Whether you are for or against being in Iraq, universal health care, school vouchers.. you name it, someone is on one side trying to sell you a bill of goods and there is a polar opposite trying to sell you 'that' bill of goods. When you pull that lever, you've dropped your two cents in the bucket .. vote sold to the highest bidder (the one who, hopefully, meshes closest with your own ideals) and that almost always comes with some sort of compromise. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is all about perspective, but I don't think it can be denied as a reality. Celeste
