i have to wonder if goldman sacks is alarmist. i seen that the US is poised to buy investments that go bad... the economy is bad.

there isnt much logic to it. if much of everyday consumption is on borrowed money- what happens when the bill comes?

I do believe there will be problems and maybe not that far off..... the costs just today had my jaw dropping all over the store ... Everything I bought had gone up atleast 10 cents somethings almost $1 In one store the milk ( not on sale) wasnt even on the shelves I think 4 doors of the milk part were empty. Eggs are $2 a dozen. Last year we started growing peppers.... this year we have branched out a whole lot more I have been saving seeds from everything. Plan on doing alot more bartering this year I refuse to pay that much for eggs ... And milk ... tho I am not to keen on fresh milk *shudder*

eggs are a cheap source of protien. to save the envireonment buying local helps. often local is better quality.

big rule. are you eating the packaging or whats inside? next be a chemist in readin labels. why pay for sugar and salt 100 fold?

im more cautous with my food $ these days. when i go to a full service grocery store i stick to loss leaders. tho fresh milk is a must.
i have drank water for the past few years...thats probaly $700 in soda i havent consumed. frees up cash for the better coffee

on meat- sales rotate.... play the sales...

Meat isnt high consumption here and I havent drank sodas in Hmm dont remember when I drank soda's. Luckily over the last few years I have gone more to things I buy freeze or process. Was glad too when squash went up to $2.08 a pound this week it is just nuts I know there are other places higher but our pay scale here sucks badly spuse was throwing a tantrum when I bought things in multiples and stocked back ... he isnt so pissy any more
