For me to start with it is her personality,yes i guess it does have a little to do with looks aswell.But for me im much more interested in someones inner beauty as opposed to someones outer beauty.As in my mind you could be dating the most beautiful lady in the world but she might have a horrible personality,thats why im attracted to inner beauty.But what works for you please?

I guess since I have been heavy all my life ...  Looks never was a thing for me, because I had always  been judged by  them.... sometimes still.   With Master it wasnt about him TELLING me he was different it was about SEEING  it, he wasnt pushy , he wasnt a horn dog. We talked through alot of the things I had been through  with the past relationship...  He didnt try to  fix me ... he made me fix me. So everything that  had drawn me to  others went straight into the toilet when I found I was falling for him. We talked about everything under the sun and then some. the day I met him ....  i hadnt seen a picture of him  and for some odd reason I  hadnt made a mental image ... but when I stepped out the car there was no doubt  eyes met and boom ... but it was about his inner being ... you know ... he still to  this day ....  hasnt claimed to  be dominant  ( 4 years and a little more later)

Confidence makes a man very attractive to me!  i just feel more at ease with someone who is sure of himself.

When people don't have outer beauty, quite often they'll be treated like shit until they no longer have inner beauty.

Sorry i don't quite agree with you there just because someone does'nt have outer beauty it does'nt mean they will be treated badly,by another person.

Beauty is in the eye of beholder, and folks who are not beautiful according to. like Hollywood, let's say, are often so beautiful once you experience them. Phillip Seymour-Hoffamn, Kathy Bates, Forest Whittaker, for example, are not your typical type of 'good looking'. In my eyes though, I could look at them all day. I find them mesmerizing, absolutely compelling. I find them beautiful.

I believe form matches essence.

Should a facet of someone's personality intrigue me, I give them a glimpse into my dark nature to see how they respond.  Very, very few make it past that point.  Those who do...have my full attention.

There must be something physical to attract my eye first . For example, eyes or the smile or the sound of their voice .  Then confidence and an easygoing personality. Looks dont matter , but cleanliness does.After that, they must be able to hold an intelligent conversation as well as silly ones.

There are a few things that attract me to a woman.  Physically, I'm attracted to plus sized women with a little jiggle on the belly, ample breasts, a luscious ass, sexy hips, and curvacious legs.  I love long red hair and green eyes.  I'm also attracted to brunettes, but not blondes.  I love pouty lips and creamy white skin...no tanned alligator skin.  Freshly done French-tipped nails show me that she takes a little time to pamper herself, so that's sexy, too.  I love the gothic look, so electric blue hair and black lipstick are really a turn-on to me.
 
Except for the red and electric blue hair, I just described Mistress!  How cool is that???  What's even cooler is the fact She's wild enough to color Her hair blue if She chooses.

Personality has a lot to do with why I interact with people the way I do. Relationships are formed on many more things than looks and for me its more about what I get from that person as far as they can make me laugh, they can laugh with me, how they respond to me.. that is number one in my book, I dont care how old, what size, what color, anything, what matters to me is the ability to interact with someone on a human basis, without that there is no interaction....

A sincere smile because there are just so many smiles I consider to be insincere. As humans we can see the difference subconsciously when someone’s facial expression matches their inner feelings. So I have no idea why some people think forcing a smile fools anyone.

What attracts me to a man first consist two things. First his eyes, if he has deep eyes, eyes that are deep like the ocean that I can fall into. The second is their first personality towards me.
pet has the most incredible eyes I've ever seen. I love them and could gaze into them for hours. He is so sexy to me, I mean really have you seen the rubber pics of him? *drool* But the way he treats me, completely and totally devoted, honest, loving, compassionate, patient, submissive of course which I had to earn, and the best damn man any woman could ever hope for. he's my pet, my slave, my boyfriend, my lover, and my best friend. he is the first person that I've been this attracted to, that I've had this level of devotion and committment toward. he's everything I've ever looked for.

He's got to be interesting... and complex.

I was working at a hospital and was asked out by this really hot Latino doctor (full story at Bounty's coffee shop if you are interested)... but I said no no no no... *I mean he was perfect, and I think perfect is BORING.... so, one day after months of saying no, he brought me some drawings he had done.  And all of a sudden I realized - hey this guy is interesting (I was at the time interpreting art as part of my job).... He was incredibly complex and fascinating, but I didn't see that where we were working... he kept it hidden and was very professional... We started dating... and all of a sudden, his handsomeness was no longer a hindrance... the interesting overruled it.

am I weird?

Just because it's dark does not mean it can't glisten in the night

So it was my awful personality, gauged over a full five minutes, that prompted someone to flee Felixstowe for home rather than go out for a chat over a curry with me?

confidence and sense of humor get me every time.  yes, some sort of physical attraction needs to be there, but honestly i've only met a few people that i didn't consider attractive and those people had horrid personalities.
i once dated a beyond gorgeous guy but there was no click, he was too busy looking in any reflective surface he could find...snore.  i also dated a guy that was shorter than me and had quite the belly on him and i thought he was the sexiest man alive at the moment.  i've known people, men and women who i didn't find attractive one way or the other but after getting to know them they became extremely attractive and beautiful to me.  for me, a mental connection needs to be there for a true attraction to exist.  you know the old line that says, the body will follow the mind?  it is true for me.

Actually  I  think  the comments have been very  real ....... We all seek something different  tho may have things  that generally attract us to  some one .... It may not always be the RIGHT one ...  but it still attracts us

There is no logic to that answer because if we are all seeking different things then why have most of the respondents answered in the same way i.e. personality over looks? I tend to think people are saying what they think sounds right rather than what they feel. All those burns victims out there must be wondering why they are alone after reading this.
 
I don't mind people saying personality counts but I would also expect a few to be saying physical attracting is what gives them that initial spark. The way it reads here is out of touch with what I read in peoples profiles in terms of what they seek and what I see in the world around me. Maybe that is my view and I'm wrong but the law of averages says there must be a few others.

Perhaps one person's realistic does match your idea of realistic.  I have no reason to believe that people have not been honest.

Here's my honest:
I am attracted first, to personality.  Intellect as well, be able to think and write and communicate clearly.  Make me laugh, be so comfortable that you don't worry about being pc or sarcastic or hard with the truth.  Don't suffer fools gladly.  Open my world, show me that you are up to the challenge of taking on someone who isn't a doormat <gasp!>

Here's my realistic:
Be physically attractive to me.  Fair-skinned, light-eyed, tall, well-groomed.  There can be exceptions, but not to the well-groomed part.  And physically fit as well, because I enjoy physical activity and want to be with someone who can keep up.
