I was thinking that we need a CAR thread in here to break things up a bit.
And it's not just for us guys either, ladies are welcome in here too!
Today I was comming back from the market and saw a car being taken away from the parking lot on the back of a flat bed truck.
It was a LEXUS! LOL, there was something about how "great" those cars are in a thread a few weeks ago and that's what made me think of this thread.
Gee, $80,000 for a car and they have to lug it to the shop on a flat bed?
They couldn't even tow it? Maybe it had something to do with the all wheel drive or transmission.
I've always been a Ford man myself, Mercurys but I've owned Ford pick up trucks and had no problems with them and that was in New England winters!
You can really beat on them if you want and it doesn't bother them at all.
You just do routine maintainance on them and they go forever!
As I said before I have a friend who had a LEXUS and had nothing but problems with it.
He bought a 2003 Corvette and traded the pos Lexus in for it.
Now just because I'm a Ford man doesn't mean I don't like GMC products.
I like GMC pick ups, Cadillacs but not Chevys.
So go ahead and comment.

*observes a moment of silence for my late, lamented 1980 Chevy Silverado*

I have a 93 Blazer now. Coming up on 100k. Gets crap fuel mileage, but otherwise I love it.  Between Blue (the Silverado) and this one, I had a 94 Saturn SL1 (I think that was the designation).  HATED it.  DESPISED that car! But.. I have to give it credit.. I drove it for 2 yrs, did no maintenance (aside from throwing in the occasional..and I do mean occasional..lol) quart of oil.  When I got rid of it, it was still running great.

I have a big Mercury Gran Marquis 2006 with 11,600 miles on it.
I bought it new. (I'm retired so I don't put on a lot of miles)
I hit the "info" button and it tells me that I'm getting 19.8 mpg around town!
Not too shabby for a 4,200 lbs car.
I rarely do any highway driving.
The thing is I can be doing 60 mph and that 4.6 litre engine is only turning at 1,600 rpms with the overdrive on.
It's rated for 25 mpg highway but I can get 27 mpg.
Plus it's big and it's comfortable with nice leather seats.

Katy, buy a "pre-owned" one and you'll save thousands!
Mercedes makes great cars, not like those overpriced pos Lexus cars.
Hey, we only go this way once! Treat yourself!

I've always been a corvette girl! I've driven many and I'd have to say an old 65 would be my dream car.... or I'll take a split window and be pretty damned happy too!

I did test drive an Audi TT a few months back, it was convertible but the nimrod didn't know how to take the top down. LOL

I drive a '97 Nissan pickup, otherwise known as the hardbody.  It has about 88,000 miles on it.  I have never had a problem out of it.  It gets great gas mileage and I have never done anything to it but routine maintenance.  It's pretty powerful for a little truck with a 4 cylinder (135 hp and it weighs almost nothing.  It's rated to tow 5000 lbs).  Nissan made that same model truck for 11 years, so parts are easy to find and cheap.  For my purposes, it's all I need.

I like Fords too.  I was a little miffed with them when they stopped using the 300 cu straight 6 in their pickups.  IMO, that was the best motor Ford ever made.  It was reliable, and it was sturdy.

I am not planning on getting rid of my truck for quite awhile.  But I would like to buy a jeep when I do.  I have always wanted one, but I have never splurged and bought one.

Yeah, I always liked those early 60's up to '67 vettes.
They had a good engine in them too with the 327 and 300 h.p. but you could order the 427 with 425 h.p. too.

Girly, cool!
When I was 16 I had a neighbor who had a 66 corvette convertable with a detatchable hard top .
He let me drive it a few times with him in the passenger seat of course.
But alas, I was a tall thin good looking boy at 16 and he wanted a little more than a "driving partner" if you know what I mean.
Those were great cars!
