I got rid of the glass teat completely about 6 years ago. If it is on when I go over to an acquaintance's, or the doctors, etc., I'm aware of it, but I don't watch anything (my friends by and large rarely have theirs on). When I had one, I kept it down to about 10 hours a week, and I felt like I had been robbed of time I'd never get back on about half of those hours. As far as the so called educational channels like History, Discovery, and so forth, I already know who won WWII...and how the longbow was developed, the history of jazz, rock, blues, country and classical...how Asian swords were made, what is in the Book of Kells, et al. I did enjoy a few cooking shows, some live music performances, satires like King of the Hill, the occasional pilot like Committed and Laroquette, and the Burke stuff on Connections, but that was about it.
