Just as an aside, as a man Sardax is expressing his own sexual needs and desires--not necessarily to be confused with those of women in general, including the women he depicts in his art. In my own fantasies, I am never wearing tight restrictive clothing, or uncomfortable shoes, or positioning myself to be viewed as an erotic object by someone else--standing naked in the desert sun, dressed in revealing lingerie in public, teetering around on high heels orbound by a corset, etc. Putting a riding crop in a woman's hand does not necesarily mean that she is not the object of a male fantasy, rather than the subject of her own fantasy.
Women in general need to develope their own sexual vocabulary of images, in my opinion. And they need to pursue their own erotic desires and make their own art. Sardax has a hint of the decadence that I would enjoy seeing for example, but his women are not the women in my fantasies by a long shot, and the men are not nearly erotic enough as objects for ME to look at! In a similar way, Akasha wants to see pretty men struggle and suffer in certain ways on film. She cannot necessarily expect a male-dominated industry to produce those images for her. I don't think they would even know where to begin, quite frankly--they cannot imitate a style or an artform that has not yet been created.
I do some work with Sardax, and have commissioned him to do "custom" stuff for me (for my wall, not my web site, which is a separate issue). And specifically in the last few months he has worked hard at my direction (and a few other femdoms friends of his) to focus more on the sub and less on the femdom in some of his art. I went to far as to send him pictures of the "types" of men and situations (and expressions, and sweat, and hair) that get me hot -- and he's interested in incorporating more of that into his art. Yay for femdoms!
I do like to see men suffer in a certain way on film and in pictures and I know I can't expect it from a "het" male dominated industry, but I can sure find it in the gay men's dominated world - the gay tops look for the same kind of sexy, hot suffering in their male bottoms that many femdoms do. I care less about the assfucking and cocksucking (generally, but not always) and am far more interested in the bottom boy's expressions and squirming -- but it does just fine in a pinch. Would I get *more* satisfaction watching it if WOMEN were doing the toturing and the dynamic was that way? To be honest, I don't know. I don't think I would really care -- I still focus on the sub anyway. I don't think I'd get more of a charge out of it if she smothered him with a breast, for example, instead of her hand; it's not about the dynamic in that way to me, it's about his response. I really have to think about this because the answer doesn't come quickly to me.
I think a femdom film that made it more sensual to women, though, is a good idea. I think more women would find it approachable and erotic if done the right way. I have female friends that have laughed and been disgusted by the femdom porn they see, or images in media -- but the same female friends have been in the room with me when I dominated a guy flirtaciously (or sometimes more intensely) and did it in way that turned them on and made them want to get involved. I have a fairly vanilla girlfriend that I've tied up guys for a couple of times (when we were younger, mostly) as a bit of a joke or demonstration, and they find that to be completely different, and much more compelling, than what they perceive as femdom erotic porn.
I still think it's a lot harder to pull off on film, though. I have had bsdm encounters in real life where the man was incredibly hot, had everything a femdom could want, but it still fell flat - even for me, IN it. It takes a certain kind of guy, and a lot of good chemistry, to capture the intense sensuality of power exchange at the right moment.
