i have never, ever called Him by His given name in public or in private. Usually, i avoid calling Him anything in public...its easier than it sounds...but when i have to get His attention verbally...then its Sir...it is respectful and can seem smart-assed to those not in the know, so it works out quote:
ORIGINAL: StormsSlave My Lord and I talk to each other a lot, about a lot of things, which is my favorite part of him. Lately, our conversation has circled around the subject of the titles we would like to be called. Before I go too far, please know I judge no one for the choices they make. These are my thoughts and opinions toward my situation. I would like to find a public form of respectful address that doesn't make me feel like a dumbass. One that I can use in front of friends and family. Calling him Master or Sir or what I call him on here, My Lord, would be awkward. I come from a bunch of beer swilling, baseball cap wearing farmer types, and he's a Australian born southern redneck. Walking into the room and handing him a can of beer, and saying, "Here's your beer, My Lord." in front of any of my five brothers would not only produce gales of laughter, but many, many nosy questions. I would like to have a term that is just ours. A secret between us. Maybe a sort of clue that I'm in that kind of mood, or merely that I am giving myself over to him at that moment, submitting to his judgement. We both agree that if people ask, we'll tell them. However, I don't see the need to shove it in other people's faces. How do you handle it? I'd love to hear if this is something you do, or if you carry your titles with you, even in the public world.
