In my opinion, folks who post pictures with maybe tacky fake wood panelling and/or funny furniture, messes, laundry spilling over and whatever else, I dont think they realize it. It is an artistic thing to notice that sort of thing, and not everyone is hip to that sort of thing. It is even more funny when there seems an attempt to be dramatic, you know doing something with handcuffs or something and in the back ground is some give-away sign that they are in the bathroom, or in the basement with an ironing board hanging on the door behind him, for instance.

If I put a pic on a profile, I am hoping to describe me in my best light, so I am careful of backgrounds, also because of the peculiar affects of lighting I try to have pictures taken in natural light. Electronic flash is so unflattering with colour, but can work very well with black and white when a high contrast reportage type photograph is sought.A liking for this type of photography came from old pictures of Betty Page.

I admit, I do use some effects in my photographs, mainly colour correction and blurring of undesired items and on occaision I will create a fantasy backdrop with photoshop, I have one of these pics on my profile.
