I just have a question triggered by a statement in an ad that popped up at the top of my list on the other side:

in an ad, or in person when You have had no prior contact (basically- first impression), do You like to see/hear the words "I have been a very bad girl/boy!" right off the bat? what if, as in an ad, it is not just addressed to You, but to any and all Dom/mes paying attention?

i am not trying to judge, or criticize, or even get fodder for pick-up lines. *grin* it just made me wonder how that goes over.

(as for the ad, i think she was kidding, a little, but it got me wondering)

I just ignore it if it's in an ad or banner or whatever.... (Hmmmm, sooo many two letter words in concussion..... errrr.... succession....)

But if a sub I didn't know hit me with that straight off in a personal correspondence, I'd
get very tired of her, very quickly!

She can go elsewhere and seek attention, I'm not into domming strangers - because it *IS* intimately personal!!! If she ever learns to talk to the real me rather than just my Dom persona, I might give her another chance - or a bit more rope....

I wonder if it actually is more a gender thing? I tend to get a lot of "Have you been naughty?" or "Do you need a spanking?" or, the best one is when you say something they don't like and say "Oh you need a spanking for that" from random male doms.

it sounds to me a bit like a brat. While I have no problems with negotiated brattishness, when it is practiced without my consent, I see it as manipulation and that gets my hackles up.

I'm very likely to ignore someone who does that to me rather than give htem what they want.

I usually cross off someone like that as a game-player. It's certainly not anyone who's interested in anything serious.

last time i asked, i was honestly considering hiding under the bed at the same time, but my motor skills were already compromised.

Emerald, good point, because i have gotten "Have you been naughty?" as a pick up line. it is kind of interesting to see which reactions do what, though.

well i am a sub, but i must say that coments like that make me luagh, it usualy dont give a good first impression to introduce yourself like the add for a sex site.

When I see those words, I just assume the person is living by his fantasy of being spanked and punished. Unless they can provide more substance, I simply pass them by.

If that was their first approach, it'd likely be their last. I would not be interested in someone who thought being "bad" was a way to get attention from me, not the kind of relationship I want.

The ones that are most likely to catch my attention are those that write to me, comment on something from my profile or journal, express some genuine interest in getting to know me and wanting me to get to know them. Just someone being open and honest, no need to be "bad" or throw themselves groveling at my feet. Talk to me the same way you would if you'd just met me at a bar, a club, or a grocery store.

This would bother me. Maybe that person has been a bad girl/boy, but what does that have to do with me? That person isn't my sub, so i'm not going to be punishing them anytime soon anyways. I love dirty talk, but only with someone that i've been with and that I know well. With a random stranger it would just make me feel like someone on a phone sex line or a cheesy porn chatroom, so I would most surely pass someone like that by.

To me that little bit sounds kinda playful and flirtatious so I'd keep on reading, so I guess it isn't bad compared to some of the other stuff I see. However, it doesn't make me optimistic that I'd find the rest of the profile interesting because most aren't so I'd expect it to go downhill from there.

That is not something that would grab my attention. however, I'd have to see what else they had to say before I deciced to write them off.
