For those who are interested in the truth behind the "Global Warming" movement, you need to go to youtube.com and type in the great global warming swindle. It is a British documentary from the sounds of it that brilliantly tears away the myths and lies that are being perpetrated in the name of science. Unfortunately it is divided into 8 separate parts, but it is well worth the effort to  watch.
Obviously some people don't like to mix facts with their kool aid, but for people who care about the truth, this is a wonderful documentary.
It especially shows the worldwide deception and in the words of Patrick Moore who is the co-founder of Greenpeace, the anti- human and anti-technology impetus of this movement.
The heartbreaking effects on third world people will get your blood boiling.
Take some time and watch it. It is well worth it.

Now though I am wondering this: More snow on the the ground keeps the ground temps cooler, which in turn effects the global temps over a long period of time. Is this just a way that the Earth responds to heating, by creating ways to cool itself?

I don't think that is right.  Here the snow acts as an insulator, and the plants suffer from the cold in low snow years.  We almost allways get a good base of snow before the Siberian and Canadian Highs come, which take the temps down way below zero.

Global warming means increase of average global temperature. It still snows in some places and continues to snow at least our lifetime.
