I'm terrible at surprises, too. Last week, I was surprising him on Friday, and had to keep my mouth shut about it all week. It was worth it, cause he loved it.

If it were me, I'd torture him with it....lol, but that's maybe my sadistic side coming out. Since that doesn't seem like your style, lol, try this.

I'd smile knowingly, wink at him, lift an eyebrow, and say..."If you keep bugging me about it, I'm going to tell you, and ruin the surprise." It might work.

We tell each other we have surprises for each other all the time (well, whenever we surprise each other, that is). The anticipation is part of the excitement. Sometimes he will give me hints and other times not a freakin' clue. The last surprise I got him was an array of cool and evil toys when I was in Baltimore. He laughed at my giddyness when I told him "Oh oh oh, I got you surprise gifts today". He asked what they were and I laughed and said, "Well if I told you, it wouldn't be a surprise, would it?" He agreed and laughed, and then asked when I would be presenting these gifts...to which I said, "Well if I told you, it wouldn't be a surprise, would it?!"

The playful banter and anticipation adds to our experience of it.

I like surprizes from My Love. It would have been better to not tell Him you had a surprize, but if you want to shock him, do some silly "little" thing, that will detract from the "real" deal, and let his surprize be doubled.

I am so grateful and happy that Tyson, not only embraces, but encourages my
playfulness
spontaneous surprise making
joyful reactions
self-prompted ideas of creativity and spicy imagination

When Tyson first met me> I was all bunjed up ( spelling? ) in my emotions. Unable to express many of them for fear they would overwhelm me if I began.
He insisted on> free flowing feelings, thoughts, ideas and communication.
Took a while!! But he has the patience of a saint.

Now he loves that I bring all that to our relationship.
For us, it doesn't compete with the Ds or authority transfer>> but rather, it is a testament to his control, leadership and inspiration.

He is better with handling anticipation that I am. Imagine that! and so I can tell him I have a surprise for him and he will smile and wait calmly for it...........grrrrrrrrrrrr
me? I get all wiggly inside > and he loves that part too.

I adore his playfulness and I love how much we laugh and have fun.

I'd ask him straight out if he could please wait until Saturday, or two weeks from next Thursday or whenever. And say that if he ordered me to, I would tell him but it would remove a lot of the happiness from the situation for me.
