DelilahDeb -> Rope spider web bondage rig? (2/22/2008 2:10:27 PM)

I've had this truly wonderful vision of a spider's web of rope into which I would restrain (or suspend) my "fly" vertically for maximum access. But...I'm rather a novice when it comes to such. I know the diff between a half-hitch and a clove hitch, and can tie both. I've used bowlines to tie up boats (dinghys and such). And I've learned a catspaw for wrist and ankle restraints. But all this Japanese whiz-bang just bores and annoys. I'm thinking that the simplest approach might be to create a permanently tied strong spiderweb structure that I can then anchor to key points (eyebolts or trees or such) and then secure my victim to it.

Suggestions? Helpful sites? Am I re-inventing the wheel?

Afterthought...oh, this is a scene to re-create my Morticia Addams costume from last Halloween....

When we attended LFF in the UK a month back, there was such a device there and available - so they do exist already.  I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the seller(apology), but they do exist already so I am sure a thorough google search or general net search can offer results.

You used to be able to get something like this from Dark Designs, though with chain, but the website seems to be down.

Ach found it -  but it is UK based - so it depends where you are.

A few years back i attended a demo on creating a rope suspension spider web.  The result was gorgeous.  i hope you are able to find some decent how to advice.  :)    So far my searches have not turned up a lot of helpful information, though there are quite a few pictures available for viewing.

Interesting way of bondage. Apart from the English outfit I have not been able to find a manufacturer. This looks like it would have to be home built out of metal pipe (like the ones used for chain link fence) and would probably require welding skills to make the metail frame for the web.

Alternatively, make a rectangle out of 4x4 beams and use that as the frame.

In both suggestions, the ropes can be anchored to the frame to create the web.

Hope this helps.

I had the pleasure of using a chain spider web at Mistress Servalan's Dungeon for hire in Sydney Australia and it was FUN! Here's the website though it doesn't show a pic of it now, She mentions it. However, failing all else, contact her and find out where She got it from?

This was the coolest way of catching up with a former subbie boy of Mine who had moved to Sydney when I was over there for a conference. The 2 hours he insisted on paying for were great fun ... as was the dinner out together that followed (which I insisted on paying for!).

Edited to add, if you take a look at gallery 3 of pics, there is one of the spider web with a subby standing and fastened to it. However, with a suitably sized subby and appropriate restraints, complete suspension would be possible. Is this the sort of thing you had in mind OP?

There is a how to on a rope web posted by 2KnottyBoys on YouTube  If you simply search on YouTube for 2KnottyBoys it will come up along with their 40+ other tutorials.  They do it in a doorway, but the procedure is the same for almost anywhere.  Once you see how it done it is pretty straightforward.

They had one made out of chain at the last Kinky Kollege in Chicago.  You could ask Master Z who made it.  He's pretty helpful

Thank you all for the pointers. For a temporary rig, the YouTube video presents a reasonable option. For the possibility of suspension in/on such a web, I think the chain example in Oz wins out. And that glow-in-the-dark UK example looks fine...I just want a closer look at the knots in it! But knots I can manage (have experienced dungeon safety monitor for a sub).

I believe I'll find the rope for my purpose, use the knotty-boys layout basic concept and go on from there. It'll certainly do for a standing support...for when I get a sub's knees buckling. I can see I'm going to have to think some engineering through for a web that can be rotated to horizontal or other angles when I wish. (That's where the UK design looks useful...a permanent rigid frame.)

So cool, the lot of youse. A choice of answers in an afternoon!
