I think he stands a better chance of hiring people who can manage our economy, making friends, not making stupid appointments, not screwing a bunch of people who had the bad luck to get hit by a storm predicted for years, etc., than anybody else running.

Im not sure if that equates to my "support of politics of the norm," whatever that actually means, but as I have said dozens of times, Im not a member of any political party and will vote for Obama, otherwise it will be Nader.

I dont know your qualifications.

One would imagine that a person with a Yale MBA would make a good business manager.

AnencephalyBoy proves this statement false.

Business as usual would be electing another lying politician who thinks with his gut and hires people who give money to his campaign to important posts (like head of FEMA) with no regard for intelligence, experience, or skill sets.

Status: offline 		The book you cite uses the word "probably" which is a word of opinion and assumption in this use, and there is no citation for this assumption(it's not supported by citation 3), or even a guestimate for the weight of explosives used since the chinese invented gunpowder, and no distinction inbetween napalm and explosives in the article text - it's about pure tonnage dropped. We don't even know what greek fire was, let alone how much was used. Your statement

Well I won't bore you with my qualifications, but I did sell my half of a very successful business and have a great start on another. All that and no MBA.

I would say that having an MBA does demonstrate you at least turned in most of your homework.

But as I sit here watching the NFL draft I see a lot of fellows that have degrees and I wonder how many of them will find that beneficial.

I'm not all that sure you can have the kind of money to campaign with that Obama has and not have a few folks thinking you owe them. Maybe even Oprah?

As far as his appointments go, you can only speculate what he might do, and in that case he is no further ahead than McCain.

Speculation is risky business, I used to spec trade a good deal, even with a solid understanding of charts there are the hinden agendas of the Funds. I'm hopin' you're following all that.

Status: offline 		Put simply, you have no real point to make... your response is "I don't know" to the challenges of logic reflected in your posts. Addressing another portion of post #39, There's always been pockets of insurgents left after any given war, and always been post occupation in a reigme change of any sort. While we declaired "mission accomplished", we're still there(contrary to your post!). And technically, we successfully instituted regime change and now we're fighting a completely different force, the original mission of institute reigme change from a sovereign dictatorship to a modern imperial state has been accomplished, now we're just preventing a civil war and enforcing our forced psuedo-democracy on people that don't want it.

So, all in all, post #39 and subsequent posts really have no point at all, it's just been us bickering back and forth. I'm done now though, and see exactly what caitlyn meant earlier.

Often times, I begin to realize the forces that created Saddam. Several religious factions all at each other's throats, and surrounded by other, equally insane governments. No doubt the schmuck had to pretend he had WMD just to keep the neighbors at bay, and halfway cautious about invading. The problem is, now that we are there, we're slowly turning into the same kind of monster.

I am sure you did notice the part where it listed the tonnage of 6.3 million tons of ordinance dropped by the U.S. by the end of 1971.
I am sure you also went on to read about the spilling of fifty thousand tons of agents orange,blue and white on Vietnam and how that has a long term effect of destroying the productivity of the land and the forest that grew there for generations to come.
I am sure that you also read about how the U.S. specifically targeted hospitals,schools and non military industrial targets.
Since I am sure you read the whole book so you must  be aware that the author uses the word probably in a very specific fashion while at the same time giving actual numbers for total tonnage of ordinance dropped both during WWII and Vietnam.
That being said I am unclear as to just what you are disagreeing with.  If we consider the whole country is about 125,000 square miles and steel weighs about 500 pounds a cubic foot how thick a plate of steel would that make covering the whole country.  Now consider how thick that plate would be when we remember the size of North Vietnam alone.
