There must be something of interest to hold your attention for this many pages.

Only the hi-jacks. Actually the blurb that scrolled on the main collarme site was the one I replied to....the rest....I've carefully avoided.

Hubby and I havent had problems with this for about 19 years, he started putting the seat down after my daughter fell in one night, he figured he was fighting a losing battle, two fems in the house.   once the boys came along, teaching them was a hell of a chore, finding the lid up was a 50-50 thing, until getting fed up with splashes, puddles etc etc on the seat, I took the seat completely off. After a few days of sitting down on the cold porcelain edge for their daily "constitutional" they learned it wasnt nice. I rarely have to worry these days
Regarding tampons...I wore pads(or hammocks as we called them back then) for a total of three months, could NOT handle them so tampons its been for twenty years....omg 30 years ack. except for the first few weeks after the replicants were born as I was torn up pretty bad. hate hammocks, blech ptooey blarg.

That's a bit rash but, whatever works for ya. Me being me, and me being the one "in charge" that will never happen in my home. The seat stays up and any splashes will be cleaned up. Everyone looks before they sit and everyone wins. (But by a lovely quirk of fate, if 'everyone' doesn't win, I still do. My house - my rules.)

I was thinking that the topic of this thread went rather nicely with the new vampires thread.........

Smith, I bet your momma never made you clean the bathroom did she?

She didn't have to. I'm too OCD. If I splashed, I cleaned. It was that simple. I knew that I only had a 50/50 shot of being the next one to need to 'sit down' so I made sure I had a clean place to sit.

I know that the military made me clean a bathroom or two. I don't get around to scrubbing the tub or sink as often as I probably should. But I assure you that if you sit on my toilet seat, you needn't have any worries. It's clean enough for an OCD person so it's clean enough for anyone else.

I'm thinking you might need a hug.

There's no worry there. I wash my hands more than a surgeon. I actually had to conciously force myself to cut down because of the effect it was having on my hands.

My landlady got angry with me about clogging the sewer pipe.

After it was all figured out, she came all the way up to my apartment and said it must have been me because they found tampons clogging the pipe.

I pointed out that I am a single guy living alone.  She accused my kid.  I pointed out she lives in the Bay area.  She insisted it must be women I dated.  I pointed out I had not actually had anybody over in months, as my girlfriend lives up north and I had been going up to see her.

After a while of my continuing to insist I was the one who put tampons into the sewer, she looked at me all exasperated and said "I cant win with you."

I reiterated my position that I was a single guy who lives alone, and asked exactly she hoped to "win" with her insistence that I was the Evil Tampon Flusher Man.

She stormed off, certain that I was flushing my tampons down the toilet.

You commented on an offshoot...as did I.

No need to get so stressed.
