ricar00 -> search for support groups, etc.? (2/23/2008 12:42:43 PM)

i am looking for a support group for a friend who is vanilla. She wants to talk to other people in marriages who are vanilla, but have spouses in the lifestyle or kinky. She is interested in people who have learned how to deal with their spouse's kinks, lifestyle, the struggles, etc.

Are there any groups of people who are in a similar position?

Hello ricar :)

as you know, there are many of us married to vanilla spouses.  as for actual support groups, none come to mind. Perhaps your friend could start one of her own?  I'd even go so far as to suggest she attend a few munches, get to know people within the community herself, open her mind to understanding it from the inside as opposed to always looking at it from an "outsiders" perspective?

My vanilla husband shocked everyone at a halloween party last year during a game of "BDSM jeopardy".  He got more answers right then many of the regular "lifestylers"! lol.

Hugs, you know where i lurk if you wish to talk more.

Our scene has a few vanilla wives (and one husband) of kinksters who have become great friends.  These partners come along toBDSM parties/clubs and hang out together in their own clique.  And they see eachother other times eg having dinner at each other's houses, girls lunches etc

They pretty openly admit they support one another.

Try asking around who has a good hearted and sensible vanilla partner and whether she would mind taking your friend under her wing for a while.
