You can go witht he lowest price, but you still have to ask if you are actually indemnified or not. Many low cost policies will end up being a pain in the ass because they put you through the wringer in order to get your settlement. My criteria are: 1) how solid is the company? 2) can I choose to have a slightly higher deductable, and thus get lower rates? 3) Do they have a multi-car discount. Just so you know, the two that I've been pretty happy with in the last 20 years is Farmers Insurance Group, and AAA... AAA is the best so far, IMHO, because they throw in a membership, and thus breakdown coverage, hotel discounts, and lots of other perks for vitually nothing. Nothing to sneeze at, when a single tow can end up costing you over $300 otherwise.
