I am definately an optimist. I believe, for instance, that the world is an overall better place, than it was 50 years ago, then it was 150 years ago, then it was 500 years ago, ect. ect.
I am clearly a slave. While still searching, some Doms might have trouble with me identifying even as a sub, but that just meant we were not a good match. I would tell prospective Doms, that, yes, I do have limits, a LOT of limits, but I give them up, slowly, with trust, and, by the time I am owned, I have no limits other than those my Master choses. This is not as simple as agreeing with him on limits, although that is probably true overall, but my Master has crashed through some things that I identified as hard limits before.
One of the last Doms I tried dating before I found him told me he could not deal with my limits because, he said, they weren't really limits. Limits, he said, were about play - 'don't use that toy on me, don't hit me there, that's too hard'. Once I am ready to play with someone, I have none of those. My limits are more hard to define, but I've always been okay with that. If I am going to give them all up, eventually, well, any Dom who couldn't understand them is probably not a good match with me, anyway. That gentleman and I, for instance, clashed over aftercare, which was a bit of a limit for me, yes. We also had difficulties with name calling and 'rough language'. That is NOT a limit for me, I enjoy it; but only after the relationship is established enough for me to feel that his real feelings are feelings of respect for me.
Okay, now did I make myself sound like a cynic to you, or someone with too many limits?
