The opening scene in Patton.

The face slicing scene in Pan's Labyrinth

Spock's Death in Star Trek II

The very ending scene of Star Wars Episode 3, which is reminiscent of a scene in the original.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.  The scene with the gulls.

DV's Fox

Kung Fu Hustle - The axe gang scene.

I think I love you....

Damn that was a funny movie.. I love the scene where the old lady is chasing him and gets hit by the sign. Her shoe flying off like that is classic.

When ever we watch "House of the Flying Daggers" we usualy back it up with Kungfu Hussle so we dont feel like killing ourselves.

In Daggers my fave scenes are http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDPmJymd038

The scene in the Bambo forest.. when they finaly make love.. and of course the ending. Makes me gril like a bitch with a skinned knee.

This is a good fan vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3XxEs1By2I

Also the absoulte cluster fuck scene in Puccini for Beginners *snickers* this is why I am *OPENLY* poly.. and Bi.

many others.. but I have to run off to class.

The Reservior Dogs: the scene where the guy cuts off the cop's ear...

AnEloquentDom -> RE: Greatest movie scenes (2/26/2008 5:09:28 PM)

Have to go with Spock's death and Kirk's resulting speech (complete with Scotty on the bagpipes) in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.  I still tear up when I watch it.

"We are gathered here today to pay final respects to our honored dead. But it should be noted that this death takes place in the shadow of new life, the sunrise of a new world; a world that our beloved comrade gave his life to protect and nourish. He did not feel this sacrifice a vain or empty one, and we will not debate his profound wisdom at these proceedings. Of my friend, I can only say this: of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most... human."

Nothing nerdy about that, Tarantino is a fantastic talent, if a bit goofy at times.

They let her do a little ballet last night on Terminator. She's clearly got more joints than the rest of us.

She was discovered by JW as a bit part as a ballet dancer in Angel..

{Wash, Serenity}"I am a leaf on the wind, watch how I soar!"... {Mal}"What the hell does that mean?"
The whole movie is one great movie scene.

The car chase in Bullet
The car chase in the Blues Brothers...All of them.

{Pvt Hudson, Aliens}"Game over, Man! Game over."

I noticed some have left out the flashback/realization/makeup clothing scene from The Crow.

Eric has all his memories come flooding back and he physically re-enacts what happened to him, ending with him flipping out his window, coming back in and landing in a kneeling position. He watches his cut-up hands heal themselves. Then he gets dressed, paints his face and stands at that window overlooking the city as the crow lands on his shoulder and lightning strikes, illuminating his new 'look.'

yep.. that does it for me..

That and the scene in the grave yard when Shelly comes for him... and she touches his hair... Or when he explains how he used to think the little things didnt matter.. but nothing is trivial.

Yeppers.. great movie all in all.

Castle Anthrax .. 'nuff said ;)

next time we get together ask me to do the scene.. LOL I am spot on.. it is frightening.

I gotta agree with Moulin Rouge.. but the Elephant medley sequence. My girl and I rock that. Come what may is also pretty good.

All of Princess Bride...

The musical parts in Ella Enchanted http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5_gtIj7L84 I just love her... The pissy twit of a fairy Godmother she got was great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jD8jfIBjZc

Heck any of her movies.. Devil wears Prada... Princess Diaries.. esp when she has the Orphans walk with her..

300.. Come back with your sheild or on it.. and of course the battle scenes. No where near historicaly correct.. but good Hollywood.

A Lion in Winter. Any of the versions out there. "Of course he has a knife.. we all have knives. It's 1183 and we are barbarians" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXs60oA4Bds

Elizabeth and Elizabeth:The Golden Age are great ones.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeLpoApP9Ts that is her telling off the Spainards. Her style of Costuming is what I wear in the SCA.

I esp. love her in the armor on her horse rousing the troops.. and also the Storm Scene. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNQjdHlGmrk

I have several that I like from "The Wild Geese". The best has to be the Sergeant Major on the pararde field and resulting drill he puts them through.

Can we all agree that Bill Murray is a talented mother fucker? [:D]

That whole movis is classic, IMO. Rodney Dangerfield, Chevy Chase, Ted Knight, Murray, the gopher, all of it.
