this caught my eye since my teen is TBI (traumatic brain injured) and takes prescribed meds for her seizures and headaches. the last 7 years, her schools have always requested that i keep some of her meds in school and i have flatly refused.  i did it before (keeping her meds at school) and when year ended, some were missing - the school didn't "know" what happened to them. so now her meds stay home.

Lordandmaster -> RE: This is SO true (2/25/2008 6:17:31 AM)

LadyRainfire -> RE: This is SO true (2/25/2008 11:51:12 AM)

LMAO.... Ok, so growing up in redneck, cowboy country, this was absolutely true up here. And having a teenage son with ADHD, I can really relate with the modern day version as well. That's what makes this so hilarious. It's the god's honest truth!

(still rolling in bed over this one...)

MissHarlet -> RE: This is SO true (2/25/2008 12:13:29 PM)

Any wonder some of us want to live in the past ??

Lumus -> RE: This is SO true (2/25/2008 12:42:06 PM)

Reminds me of the legislation passed a few years back making it a criminal act to:

Tell a child the word 'no' if you work in a daycare in Ontario.

*tries to calculate the number of sociopaths this lovely law will generate*

*stops once the exponents grow past '12'*

SteelofUtah -> RE: This is SO true (2/25/2008 2:47:57 PM)

Wow, If I never said No to my son we would hardly talk at all.

*I'm Kidding Folks*

I am gunna get him a T-Shirt that says "Daddy Drinks because I Cry"

And maybe another that says "I'm what Willis was always Talkin' Bout"

DaddyAndCarina -> RE: This is SO true (2/25/2008 3:09:15 PM)

Lord I  think I  tell my  kids no 50 times a day

LadyRainfire -> RE: This is SO true (2/25/2008 3:10:59 PM)

[:D] Wow, only 50, Carina? You're nice. I gave up counting ages ago. roflol....

Lumus -> RE: This is SO true (2/25/2008 3:32:04 PM)

You know you've said it too many times to count when you make it more entertaining by exaggeration or creative commentary:

"No.  It means nada, zip, zilch, uh uh, forget it, not a chance, nein, you-must-be-joking, never, and is without a doubt only meant as 'Yes' to those with heavy dyslexia.

Got it?" [8D]

faerytattoodgirl -> RE: This is SO true (2/25/2008 3:38:05 PM)

1967 teacher kisses student after student gives great speech or presentation.

awakenednj -> RE: This is SO true (2/25/2008 4:47:58 PM)

Thank god my daughter is only 11 months. I am dreading the teenage years... attempting to explain the madness to her....

DaddyAndCarina -> RE: This is SO true (2/25/2008 5:44:28 PM)

My  fave .... And you  think I would let you do that WHY?

awakenednj -> RE: This is SO true (2/25/2008 5:50:07 PM)

So as not to let the school systems do it first?

DaddyAndCarina -> RE: This is SO true (2/25/2008 5:51:55 PM)

More so use it inplace of no

Nineveh -> RE: This is SO true (2/25/2008 10:47:11 PM)

My daughter has asthma, our school system is underfunded, so 6 schools share one nurse.  we were told her inhaler had to be kept in the office and she could not self administer, it must be administered by the nurse, who would be there one day a week.  I don't know if you have dealt with asthma, but it can be fatal if not treated promptly.

DaddyAndCarina -> RE: This is SO true (2/25/2008 10:50:22 PM)

Most times the nurse will force water down them first to see if it helps which usually it  does... but not always I still have no  clue why  but for my son it worked pretty good most times
