If someone tries to friend me, and I haven't talked with them, then I decline, because pure and simple they are not my friend. If they want to talk they can, then they can 'friend' me later on, when I'm actually their friend.
I think it's dumb but not rude really.

lusciouslips19 -> RE: Invite to friends..rude? (2/26/2008 1:43:58 PM)

I dont accept all invites. If it is someone I have never spoken to who is just trying to hit on me, I will reject it. I do however accept and offer invites to friendship circle from those I have met through the forums. I usually exchange e-mails with those who I respect through their thoughts and opinions. They dont have to agree with me. Many of the people I respect the most have vastly different views then me. So these are my friends. People from these boards who have e-mailed with me privately and we like and respect each other.

TotalState -> RE: Invite to friends..rude? (2/26/2008 2:43:56 PM)

Awkward.  Lacking grace.  Faux pas.  But not rude.

Personally, I just reject and move on when I get sent friend invites from random strangers who haven't even bothered to send me a messages saying "Hi! Can we be friends?"

xxblushesxx -> RE: Invite to friends..rude? (2/26/2008 2:46:36 PM)

I always accept friend requests from those I know and consider on-line or real life friends.
I've also been known to accept requests from people with either hot pics or interesting profiles.
I know...
BAD! BAD!!
but....
*shrugs*
hot pics are fun to look at.
I'm just sayin'

Dnomyar -> RE: Invite to friends..rude? (2/26/2008 2:47:46 PM)

Mmmm have only 2 invites on my list. I wonder how many people CM is going to allow to view me. It is already a long scroll down to the bottom of the page.

xxblushesxx -> RE: Invite to friends..rude? (2/26/2008 2:48:49 PM)

Let's find out...

Dnomyar -> RE: Invite to friends..rude? (2/26/2008 2:49:11 PM)

Ok blushes you asked for it. What makes a pic hot?

xxblushesxx -> RE: Invite to friends..rude? (2/26/2008 2:52:04 PM)

That's all relative to the viewer.
A nice shape (either male or female)
Pretty eyes
A nice smile
Some hot fetish wear.
A certain look on the person's face...
[sm=shake.gif]
I'm just sayin'...

Dnomyar -> RE: Invite to friends..rude? (2/26/2008 3:38:37 PM)

Now I have to stand in front of a mirror and make faces till I find that certian face. luscious your flesh looks firm to me.

christine1 -> RE: Invite to friends..rude? (2/26/2008 6:20:14 PM)

it's not rude at all, but when request after request is made by complete strangers, it does get annoying.

However, if she's explained to you a hundred times that's she keeps strict kosher and you've invited her over for BBQ and cheeseburgers/is Quaker and you've invited her to Vegas (no gambling)/is made completely uncomfortable by sexuality and you've asked her to come to a strip club/etc....

Well, then the response is still rude. But also understandable. Just depends on what the circumstances are.

Edited because I misread the post at first

LOL Aqua we have a few kosher things in our kitchen, but we do NOT keep to a kosher diet, which I tease my partner about constantly.

And perving their profile requires you to add them as friends, how?  Or do you just have a hard time finding hot pictures on the internet?

I don't get it.

Dnomyar.

You wanna be my friend, dont ya?

Cyis75 -> RE: Invite to friends..rude? (2/27/2008 5:22:11 AM)

My personal take on the whole friends feature is that everyone uses it however they want to. It's all part of the social networking craze. For myself if I receive a friend request I will decline it if we haven't met in person, likewise that being said I only send it out to those that I have personally met with. So I don't end up with several dozen "friends" doesn't bother me. If you know someone that I'm a friend with you can ask them if I'm who I say I am cause they've met me, likewise I'd do the same for someone that has me as a friend.

But that's just my take on it, maybe I'm just an oddity wouldn't be the first time.

Just as a point of curiosity, however is an "INVITATION" rude? Invitations can be accepted, or declined; no harm, no foul. A so-called submissive responded to such an overture in a huff, and I'm curious how the rest of you feel.

Elucidate, pray!

[edited for typo]

i don't find being invited to someone's friend list "rude", at all.  i simply deny all requests unless i've some type of *established* rapport with the person.  i've had many requests but have only added one person so far because all the rest were from people who've never so much as said "boo" to me via email, chat, meeting in person, or anything else.  Still, i don't find the requests rude...rather i find them  "odd" and "lame"...to request to add someone as a friend when you've no connection with them whatsoever makes no logical sense to me.

i'm not here for a popularity contest and i know who my real friends are (and most of them have never sent me a request, nor have i sent them one).

Madame4a -> RE: Invite to friends..rude? (2/27/2008 7:00:19 AM)

Ditto what Cyis75 said.. people I invite or accept the invitation from know me in RT ... or have at least met me...

I decline otherwise...

subtee -> RE: Invite to friends..rude? (2/27/2008 7:31:58 AM)

FR~

I've decided not to add nor to be added on friends lists. I feel a little rude in declining, but I don't care to be on myriads of lists pervable by folks whose only link to me has come from someone else's profile. I"ve seen on myspace some men's profiles with a "stable" of women as friends...I don't want to be seen as one of them. I guess I'm really not sure what the point of it all is?

Dnomyar -> RE: Invite to friends..rude? (2/27/2008 7:42:58 AM)

Im a freind of the friendless. welcome subtee and lusciouslips.
