I am playing with a new Dom and he has pushed me further then I have ever been pushed, especailly when it comes to beatings. I am very suprised at how much i am actually able to take. He doesn't use anything too fancy on me at this point, a wooden spoon, a leather belt, or what we call the "white stick"... which is basically the bottom portion of a plastic hanger (youch!!)....

With my ex-Dom I was bruised quite often and he never exerted as much pain as this Dom does. With my new Dom, I hardly bruise at all.... the pain I feel the next morning I always expect to be all different shades of purple and/or blue... but usually there are just red welts or just a very faded slight brown old bruise kinda look to my bottom....

I know he is strong enough to bruise me, could it be the items he is using? Or have I just been beaten to the point where I will no longer bruise

??? We both are so hopful for my ass to change colors, i have been trying to think of suggestions, but hate to top from the bottom.... what do you guys suggest?

As a side note, I am very fair skined and usually any type of touch will make my skin turn red...

Perhaps the other dom used other toys..leaving more marks...or hit harder...different rhytmn of hitting?

It is amazing how much you can learn to take. Go beat many a time by my dad. After a while got immune to it. Even made the stupid mistake of asking him one time if he was done yet.

Perhaps these are things which "sting" and affect you more or differently than other implements which have been used on you in the past which might "thud" or tend to leave marks. On me for instance, canes seem to go straight to the center of my being and hurt a lot more than anything else, but may leave only red welts, whereas many heavier whips while not as immediately painful, will leave marks.

yes in the past the riding crop was used on me and left beautiful bruises... the "white stick" which feels quite a bit like a cane just leaves a long red welt, which then turns into 2 parallel lines that last for days and days...

have you had any good bruising from the use of a paddle?

The above posts are exactly right. More stinging implements won't bruise, because they aren't busting up the blood vessels. More thud like things tend to leave the bruises. So if you want those bruises you should try heavier implements, something with some heft to it.

hand him a cutting board with a handle....or a wooden hairbrush! you'll get some bruises! *G*

stroke, location, pressure of strike, your angle, added or lost padding--all impact to bruise or not to bruise.

I'm not sure what's going on, but it's the same with me lately.

Now that I'm getting regular beatings, I hardly bruise, and I'm a little disappointed by that.

for me a cane hurts the most but the greater its flexibility the less the bruising.....
a crop stings more than hurts but does leave better bruises.....
i have had a slipper used with great effect....
biting leaves the best bruises of all that take days to emerge and go through the rainbow of discolouration....
and yes my body gets tolerant and if i am into a gym phase and doing weights then my body will simply heal over night or not respond at all...i suppose its like with dancers especially ballet or contemporary or indeed street....dance every day and practice and the body just toughens and refuses to bruise or get damaged even under extreme conditions.....
i suppose that's why i am an emotional masochist as its those invisible emotional bruises that i am most sensitive to and which take the greatest time to heal....

as for thud, i had thought the belt would work, butt (hee hee) so far that hasn't worked... I love the idea of a wooden hair brush... i'll let me Dom know and see what he thinks about that one... just need to find a nice large one ;).... it would be fun to go to a store and buy items that would be good for spanking... instead of what they are intended for ;)....

Feeling pain and having bruises are two different things. I can take a willing slave and give her a beating that she will feel for days and days yet not leave a mark. On the flip side, I can beat a slave so that she is marked and colorful, but has almost no prolonged pain.

Above, Lady Hathor and AnEloquentDom are correct in what they said....I must agree...Location, busting blood vessels, heavy hitting...All very true!

Also, anyone can build a tolerance for pain, but nobody, no matter how tolerant, can be immune to markings!

Your best best is going to be a leather strap, but the strap must be folded and made in to a tool for leaving great marks and bruises. I find the best tools for beating are those that are homemade. I have a picture of "my strap" and a few pictures of a marked slave that experienced "my strap". If anyone wants to see just message me and I will send them to you. If you want specific instructions on how to make this strap message me and I will tell you.

Unless my Dom is using excessive force, i can usually take a beating without having any marks 3-4 hours later. Some people clear up faster than others.

As time goes on, your skin will bruise less. Your bottom area will become 'leathery' and just tend to take more without bruising.
I don't know how long, or what it takes to get to this, but, apparently it does happen.
(at least that's what I've been told by someone who has known a lot of subs)

i was once beaten with a belt, hard & rough (loving every second) i was bruised for over a week, for some reason it doesnt hurt at all, but the bruising after is a pain in the ass (no pun intended) lol.

*general disclaimer, no im not a doctor*

bruising or subdural heamatomas as I think theyre called are casued by rupturing blood vessels, smaller blood vessels like the capilliaries have thinner walls and rupture more easily, being smaller they tend to heal up?

I used to slap Myself silly about the chest and arms doing shaolin splashing hands...for the first few weeks, I looked like Id been run over with a truck, then the bruising stopped though I wasnt slapping myself any softer (opposite in fact) so something had physically changed about that area

A person's health is also a factor in how much they bruise.

I used to not sleep right, had a high stress life, and didn't eat right and I bruised really easilly.

Now, I'm happy, less stressed, I sleep and eat right and take vitamins and I can't hold a bruise, unless it's REALLY deep, for more than a day... or I just don't bruise at all.
