In the old sailing days, a Captian was approached by one of his crew who told him they were being approached by a pirate ship.
The Captian, being a wise leader, told the crewman to bring him his red shirt.
The crewman asked, "But why the red shirt Captian?"
And the Captian replied, "Because then if I am wounded none will notice and they will keep on fighting"
A fierce battle ensued and they were victorious.
Later, the same crewman approached the Captian and told him they were being apporached by 3 pirate ships.
The Captian thought for a moment and told the crewman "Bring me my brown pants"
