The answer is as simple and complex as life. Nature-an inborn need to survive no matter what was thrown at me. A indomitable will and a highly adaptive body. I bend but do not break. Nurture- a birth mother who neglected me nearly to death. A foster father who molested me. Adoptive parents who divorced and shuffled me between two levels of hell. A mother who as a child social worker knew every possible way to emotionally batter a child and to whip without leaving a mark. A English Professor for a Father who was a sadistic pedophile, who branded me when I was 12 to mark me as his. Neither of whom would accept anything less than a A and honors from me going through school. Nature- multiple hospitalizations for bronchitis, pneumonia and tonsillitis that gave me respite from the torment growing up, but left me with difficulty regarding attachments and abandonment. Nurture- A court system that placed me in a boarding school when I kept running away and kept refusing to believe my parents would harm me. The abortion of my fathers child at 14. My escape finally at 16. An era of free love and hippies, drugs and freedom. Widowed. married, divorced..two beautiful children, a third still born. Life- wonderful beautiful life, that I have experienced in all it's wonders and tragedies and do not give up so easily. Master- who makes me feel that I am finally..safe at home poenkitten (who knows how blessed she is) edited for spelling and I am sure I still missed something
