ORIGINAL: frenchpet it didn't automatically import my bookmarks from firefox. I just searched where the bookmarks for firefox are so I could import them, but I didn't find them. I managed to import my Firefox bookmarks to Opera, but the only method I could figure out is a little clumsy. 1. Launch Firefox, and from the 'Bookmarks' menu choose "Manage bookmarks". 2. A new window will appear titled "Bookmarks Manager". From its 'File' menu choose "Export" 3. A new window will appear titled "Export bookmarks file". The default filename is 'bookmarks' and that is fine. However, the default file type is "All Files" and I suggest changing that to "HTML files". 4. Note what folder this file will be saved to - on my computer it was in the "My Pictures" folder. You will need to remember which folder it is. When you have done that, click on the "Save" button. 5. Now lauch Opera. From the 'File' menu choose "Import and export". A sub menu will open up, choose "Import Netscape/Firefox bookmarks". 6. A new window will appear, titled "Select Netscape bookmarks to import". Right below the title are the words "Look in:" these words are followed by a drop down box. You will need to change the drop down box so that the folder with your Firefox bookmarks file (from step 4) appears in the drop down box. 7. When you finished with that, locate the file named "bookmarks" in the folder. Select that file. Then click on the "Open" button. You should get a message saying that "XXXXX number of entries have been imported. 8. Congratulations! You're done! Yay!
