In another thread someone mentioned that they seem to be using their bag of tricks against him. What I heard today, they might be stepping it up.

He said something like "I got news for ..... there WAS no Al Quaeda in Iraq".

I think it was in a debate with McCain, but I haven't heard anything that strong from anyone in some time against current policy. I'd say it would be a good time to watch for scandals.

But the thing is the republicans had better prove this guy a rapist or something to keep him out, because with public opinion running how it is, they don't have a snowball's chance in hell. Too much has come out about the republicans, it isn't put right in everyone's face (yet) but between all the no-bid contracts and other malfeasance they alot to worry about if an unfriendly administration gets in.

Yes, in the next few months I think we will see considerable mudslinging.

I will be waiting patiently.

November is a long ways off and while none of the alternatives in leadership seems all to great at this moment, perhaps a strong and noisey populace will get their attention and some good will come and the right person will get elected, that is after all what is most important to me and I hope all Americans.

mudslinging? i fully expect them to begin lobbing bricks at each other. sometimes i wonder what it would be like to live in a country where we could actually have fair elections, with people worthy of holding the office, who actually ran decent campaigns based on the real issues. yeah, i know, if i was smoking something i'd share.

Yeah, the volleys so far have been more to "test the waters" more than anything else. From what I've read, the McCain camp, and the GOP in general is trying a few preliminary (and deniable) attempts to "find out how racist they can be" when attacking Obama. Witness the recent Ohio introduction at a McCain rally, where they dug up some right wing shock jock a-hole to introduce McCain. They let this dirtbag sling all the mud at the honerable opponent, thus allowing the candidate "plausible deniability." The GOP also took polls to test how racist attacks could be.

I have to admit, at least as of this writing, I like Obama's style. The guy definitely gives off a calm self-assurance. (I especially liked his response to the recent attempts to try and paint him as being "unpatriotic." He simply said, "If I'm unpartiotic because I don't wear an American Flag pin on my lapel, how does that compare to those who have been denying our troops the body armor they need, for the last four years? That is a debate I would love to have." [I may be misquoting, but I think that was the essence of it.]) More and more I see video of the two of them, the more I see McCain as looking like a relic of a political era gone by, and Obama looking more "presidential." I'm not talking about subtance here, just the surface appearance. Considering that the job of President is more than half being a "face man" (witness how much of a puppet our current one is to his VP and special interests) I think we could do far worse.

No matter who wins, it will be like winning a car... a car that was used for one of those "whack the car with a sledgehammer for charity: $5" type cars. Whoever ends up in the office, good luck! Their work will be cut out for them. Frankly, I think it will rank right up there with being president during the post civil war reconstruction, or during the great depression.

"They" are described as people in power who can direct investigative resources toward the scrutiny of the political opponents of whom they suppport. They could be possibly not the highest, but higher officials in the Department of Justice, the FBI, CIA and any number of the myriad of government agencies now extant. "They" do not have to be told to do it, they just do it. I hope this clears it up and that it is understood that I am not talking about any shadow government behind the scenes running our government. We'll get to that some other time. I have no intention of going into that right now. But the they of which I speak now, do indeed exist. "They" would probably love to pull a Trafficant on us and leave us with Hillary or McCain to choose from. From what I've seen that would greatly work in favor of McCain.

xBull, I still think Ron Paul is the best Man for the job. He just doesn't have a chance, and may be too much on the old side. Too bad he didn't run about a decade or so ago. At the very least, there would still be no Al Quaeda in Iraq, well at least it would not be as likely.

I am also concerned for this country. And I am not about to leave. I think if Ron Paul has no chance I might have to go with Obama. A hundred years in Iraq is not appealing.

They say he does not address the healthcare issue effectively. Well who said that my tax dollars have to go to pay someone else's medical bills ? I have already said this, it simply is not in the Constitution.

So Hillary dotes on it, the plight of the poor. I'll tell you this, if I were totally out of work and decided I need medical treatment, there is a public hospital within walking distance, about 1½ miles. So they send you a bill for hundreds of thousands of dollars, you fill out the forms and prove that you are broke, it gets paid for. Your credit isn't even wrecked. Now if I go to the hospital though, a bunch of whole different things take place. Because I work.

So it boils down to this, I think Hillary is tugging at the wrong heartstrings just to get votes. I don't actually want to see her lose so much for the path she envisions, but it would shake my faith that there are still enough of us who reject the nanny government to keep her out. Electing her would be a cry for help, and I do not cry for help.

Obama may not be the best choice, but he might be the best choice we have now.

Now if he is a liar remains to be seen. Who can say ? Just occurred to me and I think I will do it in the next few days, look up his voting record. Instead of hearing about his civic activities, what has he done ? That voting record is quite telling, it is unfiltered, raw data.

Yes, that might be a good idea.

I'm starting to think that Senator Obama is a different sort of cat. The more he's attacked, the better it makes him look.

I'll probably end up voting for him.

Heh! Thats only the tip of the iceburg! Listen to this! Bush is using funds stolen from iraq to indirectly fund alqaeda! There is no limit to what can be said about illegal government, but then thats ok NOW because congress gave bush and his cronies (and all future presidents and their cronies!!!) IMMUNITY! Yes America! Of the people by the people and for the government!

McCain's camp never asked the shock jock to do anything specifically or in general. This is verified by everyone involved, and the shock jock has stated publically that he will no longer support McCain because of McCain distancing himself from those comments. I have no problem placing blame where it belongs, but to make the comments you have, is to play the same game and make yourself no better than those you say you dislike.

I like this kind of style as well, and he does not seem afraid to shake things up. He seems to represent a different kind of politician, with great charisma but I am not completely convinced about him yet, as I have more research to do.

Agreed that whoever takes over will have a tough job, and I have suspicions this may be why the RNC has put McCain up as a candidate.

Yeah, it is gonna get uglier and uglier. then any real issue get completely obscured, then we get a new president..:) Of course Thomas Jefferson abhorred Alexander Hamilton's use you bought and paid for reporters. Nothing really changes.
