i'm always happy to see the red~
i can't really figure out why it's "perving" to look at other people on a "community" site, especially one like this~
i don't see why people fill out a profile only to get pissed when someone reads it~
i wrote my profile so people that wanted to could read it~
i uploaded pictures so people that read can get an idea of who is saying them, and to not hide as a faceless name~
i don't want to be the "real perv" who anonymously looks in secret while hiding~
even multiple views seem pretty whoopdie do to me, i read profiles and look at pictures constantly, just to see all sorts of different fascinating people, the more interesting you are, the more prone i am to give it a second or third or even frequent looks. if i find someone truly interesting, then i might click on a friend or two of theirs who look interesting as well. if we're friends, i'll probably look at your profile and journal quite often.
i look at my little red button as "who found me interesting enough to even look", and when i've got messages to boot i look at it like "who found a closer look at me to still retain their interest enough, that they wanted to know more".
i look at people because of pictures, names, headline text, posts in the forums, even a simple avatar might get me to look closer, and it might take seeing and reading a few times before i do it, but i've never felt pervy or out of place for doing it or worried that they'll *gasp* know it was me.
if someone was wishing to skulk about, when you view profiles from the search window, it will not alert that person to you having viewed them. but if you click one of their pictures or a button like "view full profile" and leave the search window, you'll be giving them red buttons~
